GOALThe aim of the project is to introduce the European dimension within the school context and develop

students’ ICT, language and cultural knowledge, through the exchange of cultural experiences, views and daily life among the participating countries. Using mail and a toy as the medium of communication, students will develop their awareness of everyday life, language, as well as the manners and customs of their partners.

OBJECTIVESFollowing Bloom’s taxonomy, the project’s objectives are divided into:1. CognitiveStudents will:• Learn important manners and customs of the participating countries.• Become acquainted with issues of daily life, such as traditional recipes.• Develop their awareness of geographical as well as historical features of the partner countries. • Improve their ICT skills.• Develop their native as well as foreign language skills. 2. AffectiveStudents will:• Develop their interpersonal skills through the communication with their partners.• Show a positive disposition towards the introduction of the European dimension within the school setting. 3. PsychomotorStudents will:·        Develop their artistic skills and talents.

MethodologyThe methodology focuses on activities that promote the

development of friendships among students, the exchange of cultural and daily life experiences and views (e.g. traditional recipes, visits to sites, celebrations, etc.), as well as the language of the participating countries.

InstrumentsThe project will make use of the following instruments:        P.C.        Video        Camera        CD Recorder

Timetable The project will be implemented within a 22 week schedule. During this time, the selection of the toy mascot, its name and travel procedure will take place. Students will start corresponding with their partners, giving information on their daily lives and also prepare activities on important customs, sites and linguistic elements of their countries.

ProductThe end product will be:•An e-book comprising information on important manners and customs, as well as features of students’ daily lives (e.g. a visit to an important historical place, celebrations, traditional recipes, glossaries etc) in the participating countries.

•Α brief diary of the toy’s itinerary.

Evaluation The project evaluation will be based on Kirkpatrick’s model. Students will be given a questionnaire aiming at providing answers to the following questions:

Did they like the project? (Reactions)

What did they learn? (Learning)

Will they use what they learnt? (Transfer of knowledge)

Will they change? What is the impact to the school setting? (Result)

ROI (Return on Investment). How will the school benefit from the students’ involvement in the project?
