OUR LCTN AIMS (agreed at the meeting)…
To share (best / good) practice
To have INSET on specific areas we
identify
To develop a cross-london strategy to take Citizenship education
forward in London
To develop a resource bank / base
To spread our support base so we’re not just individuals working in
individual schools

HEADLINES FROM FEEDBACK• 100% of participants scored the session from good to excellent, 95%
very good or excellent• Length of session (2.5 hours) was appropriate• There was a useful range of activities which met most people’s needs
well• Future meetings could be in a better room, give a little more time for
activities, and have a choice/carousel of activities so the content is always relevant to all participants
• Next steps for the LCTN include (1) a virtual forum & resource bank, (2) local school linking and (3) centralised termly meetings with specific themes (see separate NEXT STEPS presentation)

Particularly useful was…Thing Votes Because…Meeting other teachers 9 (nobody actually wrote why…)
Compelling Learning Experiences 6 Interesting look at getting Citizenship right; seeing projects & resources that have been used
Assessment 9 Breaking down the skills and concepts, and considering the scope of the tasks we give as a result; clear & in a usable format
Self-Evaluation Tool 6 How to take Citizenship to the next level; good when considering next steps and how to achieve our goals; it will be useful to feed this back to teachers in my borough.

Making it even better…Issue Votes Solve the issue by…Room 1 Finding a room with better air conditioning /
windows!!!
Time 3 Giving activities a bit more time / do a bit less in the meeting
Relevance 4 Splitting up groups depending on needs, some do e.g. assessment, some do something else etc
