Principal Investigator : Dr. S. G. S. Swamy

Co-ordinator : Mr. K. N. Venkatesh

The KSCST had invited project proposals from the final year engineering

students for the 40th series (2016-17) of Student Project Programme (SPP) for the

sponsorship in November 2016. The Council had received 2265 project proposals

from various disciplines from 140 engineering colleges across the State.

The members of the Committee suggested to support theme based projects that

are relevant to the industry/society such as Defluoridation, Arsenic removal,

Waste Management, Recycling of Plastics etc. Further the members suggested

that to interact with the experts & industries in identifying branch wise and

theme based areas.

It was agreed to support the projects from the previous series of SPP which has

been awarded as “Best Project of the year” for further development so that these

projects are utilised for commercialisation by industries with up

gradation/incremental advantage after development.

These project proposals were scrutinized by experts from Indian Institute of

Science, NAL and other institutions and had approved 542 project proposals

under the 40th Series of SPP with a grant support of Rs. 25.92 lakhs. Out of

these projects 169 were selected for Exhibition and 163 projects for Seminar.

Further these project were evaluated by the experts in the month of April 2017 at

10 engineering colleges which were identified as nodal centres across the state.

KSCST had organized nodal centre evaluation of the supported projects at the

following engineering colleges namely:
