The conventions I followed to create the digi-pack and magazine advert are ..

House colours I used were simple blacks whites and blues, this tied all the products in together well, not over complicating the visuals or subtracting attention away from the band information. I have also used the same colours in the subtitle of my music video making another link between them. I have also chosen the colours considering the target audience they are simple so will appeal to a widevariation of people.

Here are some screen shots from my music video, I have made my music video tie in with the magazine advert. The reason for this is the video features a lot of lights and fire, I have symbolised this in the picture I have used in the background of my magazine advert. I shows bright colours of blured lights connecting it the the music video.

Connecting my CD cover and my music video

I have made a clear connection between the CD cover and my music video. Firstly I have featured the same girl in both tying them together. I have also used dark scenes with strong lighting creating a glow around the figure across both products.

LayoutI have tried to keep both my magazine advert and CD cover quite simple so they link together. I have used quite a lot of blank space in order to create this. Although the picture on the magazine advert breaks away from this a little to create excitement and interest in the product.I have spaced the text in similar ways keeping it to the sides ad corners to allow the images to capture the viewers interest.

Typeface

I have used a simple san serif typeface, I have used this typeface as it will appeal the wide target audience of both genders of a range of ages. It is simple so shows off the information with out being distracting.

Use of images

I have used one style of image across my CD cover with the same lighting and figure featured in both pictures, I have done this in order to create a flow across the piece. For the magazine advert I have then used an image that features only landscape, the water at the bottom of the image is an effective background and the lighting makes it exciting and draws attention to the piece. There is one shot in the music video that slowly comes into focus as it plays, this ties in well with the out of focus sectionof the magazine advert.

Image motifs and Genre characteristics

In the music video they talk about burning memory’s, signifying that they were bad and not worth remembering. I have included a clip of an earlier scene being burnt showing this.

Quick cut scenes that change on the beat of the music, conceptual based videos and dark lighting are all typical of the genre of music. I have used all of these to make the video fit in with this.

‘The kids were left in the outskirts suffering all alone’ here I have shown a train leaving the station, signifying being left behind.
