Maximum time allowed for each show 2minutes.

16. Open style & performance – Riders to be 13 years and over any suitable horse or pony. Show to

include a halt, walk on a long rein, trot & canter serpentine, and a trot or canter extension.

17. Young Riders & Leadrein - style & performance – Ponies not exceeding 133cms Riders 12 years and

under show to include a halt, walk on a long rein, & trot serpentine.

Non leadreins can show a short canter optional.

22. Fox Rescue – Riders to capture the hound (Toy Dog) and tie him up, then rescue the fox (toy fox,)

ride into the woods(cones) and walk through the stream (blue plastic) to lose the scent, place the

fox safely in his lair, and sprint home before you are caught. Fastest time wins (but you must walk

through the stream.)

EVENING PERFORMANCE - CHAMPIONSHIPS Championships to be held on completion of all classes after a short break for the judges,

at approximately 5.30pm. Time maybe altered on the day according to class attendance, we will try and keep you

updated during the afternoon.

competitors either ridden or In-hand – The children will be chosen, not because they are class winners, but those

who seem to have a special bond / partnership with their ponies or if they work especially well with their ponies.

There will only be 12 GOLDEN TICKETS given out. Every child who receives a GOLDEN TICKET is eligible for the

Prestigious “PERFECT PARTNERS AWARD” which will take place at the beginning of the evening performance of

Championships.

VALE OF LUNE HUNT SUPPORTERS SHOW RULES

The rules are developed to create a safe environment for everyone to enjoy show day and to help with the smooth running of

the competition. Please abide by them.

The judge’s decision is final in all classes. Rudeness to judges, stewards or show helpers will not be tolerated

Entry Fees will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Large Classes in rings 1 & 2 – Classes with 16 or more entries attending, will be split in to two sections, the top five chosen from

each section, will then be judged together to decide the final class winners. (Split to be judge’s decision i.e. height / type /

random)

Liability: Vale of Lune Harriers the organisers, or anyone acting on their behalf accepts no liability whatsoever for loss injury or

damage to any person or animal, property or vehicle how so ever caused.

Objections to be handed to the secretary in writing within half an hour of the end of the relevant class together with a £20

deposit. Deposit will be forfeit if the show officials decided the complaint is not sustained.

The organisers reserve the right to refuse entry without giving reason, and to cancel or alter the time of any class, or to run the

class in another ring.

Riders age: are from the 1st of January of the current year, riders must have reached the age of 3 years on the day of the show.

Equine age: All horses and ponies must be 4 years and over in all ridden classes. The age is calculated from the 1st January in the

year of the birth.

Snaffle Bridles only for Lead rein & novice horse or ponies.

Hard hats must be worn and correctly fastened by all riders when mounted on the showground; hats must conform to 2016/17

regulations i.e. PAS015 kitemarked. All children under the age of 18 must wear a hard hat when showing in hand. It is

recommended the all handlers wear a hard hat to 2016/17 standard.

Please do not compete under a judge to whom you are related. Or has or had a financial interest in your animal.

Any competitor falling from their horse/pony during a class will be asked to leave the ring.

It is the competitors’ responsibility to be present at the start of each class entered, failure to do so may result in being excluded

from the class.

Dress code: All competitors must be smartly and correctly dressed for all classes. The evening performance dress, navy or

tweed jacket with stock or tie. Top hats or bowlers may not be worn by anyone under 18 years of age. Adults may wear Top hats

or bowlers in the evening performance at their own risk.

Spurs may not be worn by junior riders under the age of 16 years on 01st January in the current year. Spurs may be worn in any

other class at the judge’s discretion.

Whips not to exceed 30” and excessive use of the whip is forbidden.

It is forbidden to lunge on the showground.

Competitor numbers: must be worn when entering the ring.

Stallions: Must be suitably bitted, well behaved and handled by an adult.

M & M pony stallions not exc. 138cms, riders must be 12 years and over 01/01/18

M&M large breed stallions exc. 138cms. Riders must be 14 years and over 01/01/18

Stallions are not eligible for lead rein, first ridden, novelty classes and young & junior handler classes.

Horses/ponies must not be left unattended tethered to vehicles, remove droppings & spilt hay.
