FAST SUB CHASERS TO AID PACIFIC COAST RUM WAR Four of Fleet in Atlantic Will Be Transferred in September, Dry Officers State. By the Associated Press. SAN PEDRO, Calif., June 17. Four fast submarine 'chasers, at present attached to the fleet of Ameri- can vessels combating rum runners in the Atlantic Ocean, will come to the Pacific coast early next September to assist the Coast Guard cutters Vaughan and Tamaros in cleaning up the rum-running fleet operating off the Pacific coast. Federal prohibition officers announced today. Capt. W. A. Woods of the Vaughan said that recommendations have been made which, if approved, will result in the landing of a large expedition on Santa Catalina, Santa Rosa, San Miguel and San Clemente Islands, where huge caches of liquor exist and where illicit stills are said to be operating.
