Spring 2019: March, April, May — Event Descriptions

Birth–5: Early Childhood1-2-3 Play with MeSpend time together, play, make friends, and talk one-on-one with specialists on child development during this enjoyable one-month workshop. For children 1 to 3 years and their parents and caregivers. Registration required. Infant and preschool siblings may attend with registered toddler.

Baby LapsitSongs, bounces, and rhymes for babies from birth to walking with their caregivers. Siblings welcome.

Baby StepsRhymes, songs, and books for little ones from walking to 24 months and their caregivers. Siblings welcome.

Baby TalkTalk about the care of babies up to one year of age with other parents. Carolyn Call, RN, facilitator.

Crybaby Concert with Fontana Chamber ArtsPreschool children and their caregivers enjoy a performance of beautiful music in an open and flexible environment with room to move, stroller parking, and nutritious snacks. Siblings welcome.

Family StorytimeStories, activities and special guests designed for birth-5 and their families.

Gilmore Family Concerts Presents Baby Grands for Babies, Toddlers and Preschoolers No stage, no seats, no problem. Babies, toddlers, and preschoolers are invited to this piano playtime concert. Kids can move freely around the space while parents, family, and friends sip coffee and enjoy an unconven-tional piano recital for children, without compromising the music.

Little ScientistsEarly literacy and STEM activities for preschoolers and their caregivers. Registration required.

Musical Storybooks: Ferdinand the Bull Musical Storybooks is created for 3 to 6 years and features a story, craft, and music by the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra’s string quartet. Registration required. Groups and individuals can register online or call (269) 553-7804.

Party in the Park Calling all childcare providers, teachers and parents! You and your preschool children will enjoy this very special story hour featuring: • A book for each child • Lots of wonderful stories • Costumed characters • Healthy snacks and juice This is a FREE event! STEM LabDrop in for a fun afternoon of hands-on science and hanging out with friends. Activities vary each program and are designed for 3rd to 5th graders.

Upcycle with Mary EmmaRecycle and repurpose everyday materials to craft functional and artistic creations. Items include fabrics, threads, buttons, ribbons, etc. All materials provided.

Family ProgramsAn DroSt. Patrick’s Day is coming. Celebrate with this high energy Celtic music and dance performance featuring dancers from the Quinn Irish Dance Troup. Seating is limited, registration required.

Bach in Jammies It’s the Kalamazoo Bach Festival April 26 through May 6! Bach Festival chorus members will serenade you to the moon and back with this lovely all-ages family evening event of your favorite bedtime stories paired with beautiful music and lullabies.
