What are your general career plans and specific five-year goals: To play the PGA Tour

Golf has and always will be a very important part of my life. Since I was born, I have been surrounded by golf. My father was a head golf professional and played golf collegiately as did my mother. Golf was always around my home. When I was little, my mother and I would visit my father at work. My parents got me a little wooden club for my first birthday, and I would sometimes whack a few balls when I went to visit my father. Eventually, I decided that I wanted to do a little more than just whack a few balls. My parents never asked me if I wanted to play but were happy to help me when I expressed interest in playing. My father was my only coach until I went to college. We spent countless hours together working on my golf game. Golf allowed me to spend a lot of time with my father. It was very gratifying for my whole family when all our long hours allowed me to attend Oklahoma State. Golf is an individual sport but to be successful it’s crucial to have parents that are helping and supporting you every step of the way.

Golf gave me the opportunity to attend Oklahoma State and go through many life changing experiences. I met many people and visited numerous places during my time on the golf team along with getting a finance degree. I have many memorable moments from traveling with the team most notably our runner-up finish my freshman year in NCAA’s. As my college golf career is over, I’ve started my career as a professional golfer. My dream has always been to play the PGA Tour and start a foundation in my sister’s honor to support families with children who have special needs. As I’m sure you know, getting on the PGA tour is extremely difficult, but I’m prepared for all the different obstacles that I will encounter. Winning the Everett Dobson Award would not only be a huge honor but help me along my journey to the PGA Tour.

It’s always said that golf and life are very similar. In both, you go through struggles and high points. Every day there is another obstacle to overcome and adapt to. This cliché is used so much that it’s overlooked just how true it really is. Golf has given me many memorable moments and several that I would like to forget, but I know golf has equipped me to handle anything that life throws at me.
