The Swedish Election and the Rise of the Right Wing Carl Svensson

Listen and learn about the upcoming election in Sweden and the parties therein. Over the last mandate periods the

amount of refugees. How does such a major immigration wave affect a socialistic society, and what are the

consequences for Sweden's social systems?

Iranians Who Make the American Dream Come True Shadi Zamani

With Iran in the news virtually every day, many Americans have little knowledge of the story of the hundreds of

thousands of Iranians who live here in the US. It's important to realize that Iranian immigrants go that extra mile and

don't mind swimming upstream. They left so much behind to come to the US to search for opportunities so that

they will be contributing members of the societies they are part of. Come to learn more about successful Iranians

who made their dreams come true.

Brought Up By Chinese Grandparents Yu Zhou

In China, 70% of children are cared for by grandparents. As one of those children, I feel the advantages and the

disadvantages from a child view. Some people doubt if it is good for children's education; some people wonder why

your parents don't take care of you by themselves; some people are curious about how the children feel. Come and

know more about my life with grandparents and the reasons why most Chinese children are cared for by

grandparents.

Kolkata's Love of Football Debarpan “DB” Bhowmick

Kolkata is a city that has many interests, but every 'Calcuttan' has a special place for football (soccer), in their hearts.

A city that offers big open fields in the middle of a metropolitan area is a sign that football is not a joke to the

residents. Every morning the 'maidans' (or fields) are full of young athletes who are training to earn greatness on the

field. If you take a walk through this area in the morning the energy will surely electrify you! Join me to learn more

about Kolkata's passion for football.

United Kingdom - The Classic Beauty Diep Tran

The UK is where I found a hand-written parcel list stuck on the window of the porter's office, where I saw those little

ducklings following their mom, where I ran after the pink and purple light of sunset at the end of day, and where I

caught a beautiful scene of an old couple sitting in front of the library and reading books under the umbrella. I don't

know if I'll go back there in the future and I don't know if I will meet those people again. The world is so big but it's

round, too! Lancaster went from an unfamiliar place to a part of my 20s I will not forget!

Pecha Kucha 3 Minutes - 3 Slides

Caste System In Nepal Ishan Katwal

In Nepal, during the ancient times, people started being classified into different castes on the basis

of their occupations. The priests belonged in the Brahmin caste, the warriors in the Kshetriya caste, merchants in

the Sudras and so on. Slowly, this manifested into a social hierarchy where some castes were considered superior

to others and this paved way for centuries of oppression, especially for people considered "untouchable". Come find

out the historical and current status of this unique system.
