Everyday Things

That Affect

Hormones

Hormones are the

bane of every stable

human being on the planet. They always

come up unannounced and uninvited to ruin

anything and everything good at the time.

Unfortunately, hormones are in everyone’s

brains to help them survive; the only way to

stop them from ruining everything is to deal

with them, which is not the easiest thing to

do.

For one thing, hormones have several triggers

that people can activate without ever meaning

to do it. The good news is these triggers are

very specific, meaning only one or two things

can force them to activate. The bad news is

people encounter many of these triggers

every single day

of their lives.

As it turns out, there are hormone-disrupting

chemicals that cover many things people use

every day. These chemicals can do a real

number on a person’s hormones. These

mess with people that lead to cancer and

other serious illnesses.

It is important to note that the amount of

hormone disruptichemicals on these items is

minimal, otherwise everyone would be

bedridden with serious diseases. But, there

are people born

with amazing

susceptibility to

these chemicals,

and it is in their

interest that studies

try to point out

which objects have

these chemical triggers.

The first item on

the list is one of the

things the

government wants people to have more of:

receipts. Receipts are commonly printed on

thermal paper, which contain BPA, a

substance known to imitate estrogen.

Overexposure to BPA has links with early

onset of puberty in girls, breast cancer, and

reproductive problems.

Women are not the only ones in danger of

suffering hormonal problems. Dioxin is a

chemical that affects sperm quality and count,

if absorbed in their mother’s womb or during

early life. It should be easy enough to avoid

feeding babies this chemical if it were not for

the fact that it is a by-product of the industrial

processing of food. Almost everything in the

American food supply has some trace of

Dioxin in it, and there are very few ways to

test for it without a lab.
