Everything you need to know about IPL hair removal
What is IPL Hair removal?
IPL is a light based energy that is applied to your skin to target the hair follicle. It creates thermal heat that is absorbed into the hair follicle to destroy it and its feeder vessels.
IPL is a non-invasive, gentle long-lasting solution for your unwanted hair. It is a safe and effective way to achieve smooth, hair-free skin. All areas of the face and body (including Brazilian) can be treated comfortably with IPL hair removal.
Is IPL hair removal for you?
A minimum of 6-8 treatments is usually required. Every person’s hair growth pattern is different and the number of treatments required will vary depending on the colour of your skin and hair. IPL hair removal is most effective during the active stage of the hair growth and so intervals will begin at 4-6 weeks.

It is normal to experience some redness and applying an ice pack afterwards can ease tenderness of the skin and occasionally some very mild swelling. Most clients tolerate IPL hair removal with little discomfort.

It is extremely important to avoid sun exposure, tanning beds and fake tans for at least 3-4 weeks before treatment. You must also stop waxing, plucking or epilating at least 3-4 weeks before treatment. Shaving is allowed. Before each treatment you need to shave the area 36-48 hours in advance.
What should I do before treatment?
There is no downtime and you can return to normal activities afterwards. Avoid hot water, heat, chlorinated pools and antiperspirants (for underarms) on the day of treatment. You should not pluck or wax the hairs in between IPL treatments. It is also important to avoid the sun for several weeks, and to wear a 30+ sunscreen afterwards.
