In 2005 the Cape May County Chamber of Commerce seized the opportunity to highlight the important role women fill in the workplace. To recognize the success of this endeavor, our 10th Annual Women In Business Confer-ence will expand the conversation beyond just women.

This year the need for equal opportunity for both men and women will be highlighted. Themed Evolution in the Work-place, this conference will showcase the nontraditional roles both men and women fill in today’s business world.

Keynote Speaker:

cdr Corry Juedeman PrestidgeU.S. Navy, RetiredCommander Corry Juedeman Prestidge attended Washington State University on a Navy ROTC schol-

arship. She graduated Cum Laude in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and was commissioned an Ensign in the United States Navy. She then reported to Pensacola, Fla. for Naval Pilot Training where she earned her Wings of Gold in July 1996.

After E-2C Hawkeye training at VAW-120 in Norfolk, Va., CDR Prestidge reported to the VAW-113 Black Eagles stationed at NAS Miramar, Calif., and completed two deployments to the Arabian Gulf aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) before reporting to VAW-120 as an Instructor.

In 2003, CDR Prestidge reported to VAW-77 at NAS Atlanta where she deployed to Latin America in support of Counter Narcotics Operations. In November 2007 she graduated with distinction from the Naval War College in Newport, R.I., with a Master of Arts Degree in National Secu-rity and Strategic Studies. CDR Prestidge then served at the Pentagon where she earned honors as the J6 Action Officer of the Year.

In 2010-2011 she attended the Army War College in Carlisle, Pa., gradu-ating with a Master of Arts Degree in National Security Studies. Her final tour was as Commanding Officer of Navy Recruiting District San Anto-nio before retiring in 2014.

CDR Prestidge’s decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (with Gold Star), and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (with four Gold Stars). She has logged over 2,500 hours and 300 carrier arrested landings. CDR Prestidge is married to CAPT Todd Prestidge, the Commanding Officer of Training Center Cape May.

Dan Skeldon received his degree in meteorology from Cornell University in New York. He got his start in the world of broadcast meteorology in 1998, forecast-

ing frequent snowstorms as the morning meteorologist for WLUC-TV6 in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. He then continued his snowbound television career as the weekend and then the chief meteorologist for WVNY-TV ABC22 in Burlington, Vermont. Dan joined NBC40 in 2003 and spent over a decade predicting the weather South Jersey. Most recently Skeldon joined The Press of Atlantic City as their first Meteorologist in a more than 100 year history.

Identity Theft & Cyber Liability Cyber criminals usually steal money or information that can eventually be monetized, such as credit card num-bers, personal identification information and tax returns. Both individuals and businesses looking to better under-stand the cyber risks present today, will learn what to do from both personal and business perspectives if found victim to cyber theft. Tom Davey of Crime Fighter Seminars will touch on personal risks, how identity theft can happen, ways to reduce your risks and what to do if you have been personally victimized. Bill Hughes of Cooper Levenson, Attorneys at Law will outline some of the legal aspects of falling victim to cyber theft while Bill McMahon of McMahon Insurance Agency will offer information for the everyday business person’s insurance needs.

Channeling Your Inner Hero Presented by Linda Chambers, Channeling Your Inner Hero will focus on the different motivational factors between men and women and how that can plan a role in finding your inner hero. Chamber’s dynamic and humorous demeanor has aided many in their paths to success. Learn how to achieve your goals by finding the strength within yourself and through positive thinking.

Jones-Carmack will share her vast knowledge and experience on how to promote yourself and your business through public speaking. This session will offer know-how and tools you can use to improve your public speaking skills.
