GO FOR NO!Hopefully, by now, you will be so used to going for no, that hearing the word yes will be almost disappointing! However, ifyou’ve yet to get to grips with this system, here are some of the many, many stories we receive each week that just goes toprove that you never know who will be interested – until you try.

04.02.11 Issue 05 ENTERPRIZE WEEKLY BULLETIN

In March of last year, you would have found Doug and SandraRoper living it up Kleeneze-style in Cape Town. By September, theyhad moved up the Sales Plan to Silver Executive level. Novembersaw them take five Distributorships with them to Hong Kong andthen later, in the same month, go on to qualify for the third quarterMini Cooper. The couple then wrapped their year of success off withwinning the Executive Cup.

So when EWB spoke to Doug earlier this week to find out what thecouple did differently to make 2010 such a successful year, we weresurprised to find out that the answer was simply that they didn’t.

You achieved so much last year. Were they all goals of yours?

Actually, the main focus for the year was the trophy and all the othergoals were really achieved in pursuit of that. For us, winning theExecutive Cup would mean that we knew our business was reallygoing in the right direction, which is important for us.

As it turned out, though, the biggest thrill for us turned out not to bethe Executive Cup, but having two of our team members winning theHarry Crook and the Distributor Challenge Cup!

Did you work harder in 2010 or do something differently toachieve all this success?

Our success definitely didn’t come about just last year. As Sandra saidon stage at the New Year launch, the foundations were laid in 2006/7when we started sponsoring. It’s just the cumulative effect of thebusiness growing and developing and all those things comingtogether led to our success last year.

I’ve had so many people ask me what we did to that made all thatdifference, but it’s not one thing or one big push. It’s doing all theright things over a period of time – eventually it all pays off and thatreally showed last year.

In 2009 for example, although our business was good, we were a bitfrustrated. We kept on doing what we knew we had to and then thefruit of that came through last year with people hitting their stride inthe team.

When did you first decide you wanted the trophy and howdid you go about executing that plan?

We were aware that we had some great people in our business andthey were ready to develop and push on. New Year 2010, we satdown and looked at what they wanted to achieve. We knew if wehelped them achieve their goals, we’d achieve ours too. The ExecutiveCup is a team award – it’s our entire group’s percentage growth. It’sabout the team and what they achieved. Our role was just to coachand lead the way.

How did you ensure your team didn’t lose momentum?

All our Golds and potential Golds come round our house once aperiod and we have a bit of fun and food together and then Sandraand I do some training. We call it Rising Stars. It’s here that peoplewill set their goals and targets for the period and I think it’s crucial tohelp everyone keep focus.

Sandra and I have always built our business around the trips and aimto qualify for each of the main Destinations, because it gives you agreat deadline to build to. Naturally, our team, after hearing from uswhat the Destinations were like, wanted to do the same and HongKong became a major goal for the. That’s what kept people on theball all year.

So we assume New York will be another major goal foryou now?

Absolutely! There are now six of us who have already qualified forNew York [trophy winners] and we’ve got two other couples who arein qualification already. I really believe that there’ll be another five

THE LITTLE THINGS THAT

ENTERPRIZE WEEKLY BULLETIN Issue 05 04.02.11

Last year, you raised an amazing £19,000 forMacmillan Cancer Support. This year,Kleeneze’s official charity turns 100 and we’redetermined to do even MORE.

The Macmillan centenary is much more thanjust a birthday. Macmillan is passionate aboutreaching and improving the lives of everyoneliving with cancer. But – and this is theimportant bit – they need our help.

The Centenary Cycle ChallengeIf you’re looking for an adventure, want to get fit and at the sametime make a huge difference to people affected by cancer, why notregister your interest for the Centenary Cycling Challenge?

The event is a 4-leg relay from John O’Groats to Lands End, each leglasting 4 days. You will register for 1 leg of your choice (see the DSAfor more details) and enjoy 4 days of changing landscapes and variedterrains, ranging from challenging and hilly tracks to coast roads androlling farmland. You will cycle an average distance of 60 miles a day.

This event will be open to Distributors, families, friends andcustomers. The more the merrier, but places are limited. Minimumsponsorship is £950. Please email [email protected] by25 February to register your interest.

The 100 ClubIf strenuous exercise is not for you but you want to be a part ofMacmillan’s centenary celebrations, you could join The 100 Club. 100is the magic number and we are challenging all Distributors to raisejust £100 in 2011!

If just 100 distributors take part, you will raise a fantastic £10,000!Imagine if 1,000 take part that could be an amazing £100,000!!!

We will be posting ideas of the month to help you with yourfundraising throughout the year and everyone who raises at least£100 will receive a limited edition Macmillan 100+ pin badge and beentered into a prize draw!

Please contact [email protected] to register yourcommitment to the £100 club and we will email you back with allthe details.

distributorships from our team qualifying too, so that will maketwenty of us in total in New York! It’s definitely our main aim for theyear, because the knock-on effect will mean our group sales andeveryone’s income will be sensational.

Do you have any other goals for this year? Do you want towin the trophy again?

Hmm, having won the trophy once, I see no reason to give itup now!

I think the next major sales plan progression goal for us is achievingSED and we’d love to do that this year. For us, to reach SED meansthat you have a secure business; your income is that much morestable and your long-term future is more stable, due to the depth andsecurity of your business. I also think that this is the level where theleadership really starts. It will give the group confidence in us andthat’s a nice position to be in.

What about personal goals?

We’ve focused a lot on our personal goals over the years. Wecurrently rent our house, so one of the reasons why we’re growingour Kleeneze business is to enable us to buy our home. It’s a reallymassive thing to get you out of bed in the morning. We’ve got otherbig goals for the future too. This year, we want to get a £5k cheque.A lot of our goals revolve around giving our kids that security. It’sthese future personal goals that keep that compound effect going.Without your personal goals, your reason for doing is just not there.

As a Distributor, what’s the best bit of advice you’veever had?

For me, it’s the important phrase in the whole business and one thatkept me focused and going when things weren’t going quite right. It’s simply this: concentrate on the activity, not the results.

We all have good and bad days. If you focus on the results, andthey’re good, you get high. If they’re bad, you get low. If you focuson the activity goals, it’s always a good day. If your activity is to putout 200 catalogues, and you’ve done that, it’s a good day. If you’vepicked them up (no matter what the result is), it’s a good day. If yourgoal is to tell ten people about the business, regardless if they join ornot, and you’ve done that, it’s a good day. The compound effect willtake care of the rest. I live by that.

T LEAD TO BIG RESULTS

ARE YOU UP TO THE CHALLENGE?Doug and Sandra’s cheque for Period 12 in 2010 was £4,250.15!
