P&C FUN RUN — 1:30
Your P&C has organised a fabulous fun run for all Years 1-6 students on our oval tomorrow (Friday). Parents are welcome to join in the fun and complete laps as well. Fun Run begins at 1:30.
Children will get recorded for each lap completed.
While there is some sunscreen available students should ensure they are prepared for the 25º sun. School hats are mandatory.
Bathers are not required. There are a couple of water obstacles so students can get changed into casual shorts and t-shirts at
lunchtime if required. This is optional.
Students should bring a towel to dry off because they return to class for about 30 min before the siren.
All sponsorship money must be returned to school by Thursday 21 September to allow us to finalise the students prizes.
ARTS NIGHT
Wednesday 20 September from 5:00pm. Sausage sizzle and drinks available. The theme for The Arts this year is about art and craft displays in the undercover area, art room, classrooms and cluster wet areas. Selected musical pieces of dance and instrumental performances outside the art room are happening at the same time. This is stand-ing room only and families can come and go as they please. We finish the night on the stage behind the library facing the oval, with the combined Choir and All Stars singing group and our rock band Bullet Proof .
NOTE: Parents who purchase art work can pay for this at the P&C desk in the undercover area but please; art work is not to be taken home Wednesday night. All purchased art will be sent home on Thursday or Friday.
Busy Bee
Thank you to all the parents who helped out last weekend at school to tidy up and move the garden beds to better places around the school. This gives greater opportunities for our students to tend these beds and increase their knowledge and skills in all the related areas for successfully growing plants. Pretty exciting for students and teachers!
End of Term 3
What a busy time our students have had during Term 3 with Book Week and dress up assembly, school and interschool cross country, first aid training, chess and checkers, CVC circus troupe, School Fun Run and The Arts celebrations. Not to mention assemblies for B1, A1, and C1, class events and activities, excursions and all the work for the art and music displays.
Best wishes to everyone for a safe and happy holiday and we’ll see you all soon for the exciting final term.

MERIT AWARDS
C1 ASSEMBLY
C1’s gloriumptious (gloriously wonderfully) assembly was based on the book ‘Matilda’ by Roald Dahl. There was a hilarious Cinderella with her magical Fairy Godmother. The song ‘Naughty’ from Mailtda, the musical was performed starring the Matildas along with the grumpy Mrs Trunchball and sweet Miss Honey. We even had cameo roles for Jack and Jill and the romantic Romeo and Juliet.
We had a fabulous time preparing for and performing our item for assembly, we hope you loved it too!

WILDLIFE INCURSION
Kindergarten and Pre primary students attended an incursion by West Oz Wildlife. The children met Keira and Juda the koala’s, Yappa the dingo, Mya the bearded dragon, Barry the bobtail lizard and pythons, Hero, Rambo and Rosie. The children were very brave to pat and touch the animals and hold the pythons. They learnt many interesting facts about the animals and their care and how to be safe around our wildlife. It was lot’s of fun to have the animals visit our school!
Planning for the 2018 school year is now underway. In order for us to plan accurately for our staffing and class numbers we need to know if your family is not returning to Excelsior Primary in 2018. If your family is not returning to Excelsior Primary next year, would you kindly let the office staff know you are leaving and where your family will be attending school in 2018.
ARE YOU LEAVING EXCELSIOR?
CHESS
On the 5th of September 2017, students from Forest Crescent and their Principal, Mr Holmes, came to our school to play a friendly game of chess. Mr Liddelow came and got the chess people to meet Forest Crescent. I met a girl named Lily and showed her around our school and at about 1:00pm we went back to the library to play some chess! It was fun and there was no winner. After playing chess in pairs we all went outside of C block to play a game of giant chess with the newly painted giant chessboard and the big chess pieces. We all lined up against the C block wall and the person at the end of the line had to run and move one chess piece then the next person and so on. Forest Crescent then left and walked back to their school and we went back to our classes. I hope we do it again soon. Olivia C1

CVC FUNWORKS WORKSHOP
My class was the fortunate class that was selected to go to the workshop with the CVC circus troop. The talented CVC students taught us some awesome tricks with hula-hoops, and other things like the butterfly and the penguin. The students were so nice and hilarious to work with. I liked that the performance and workshop had a purpose, which was ‘You don’t judge people on what they like or where they are from.’ We must remember to always include everyone in everything! We were so glad we had the opportunity to learn from these remarkable circus
performers. By Aliyah (C1)

CVC CIRCUS TROOP
CVC’s marvellous circus troop performance was all about inclusion, and not leaving anyone out. There were some nasty ballet dancers that treated a ‘little parson’ in the wrong way, and the little person felt excluded. The little person was the main character in the performance and she was amazing! She was left out because of her height, but her personality was wonderful and she was extremely expressive. We had an AMAZING time; the performance was entertaining and educational. By Natasha C1
Our School Fun Run is tomorrow on the oval at am. Family support is key, so come down and enjoy the atmosphere. We request for all sponsorship forms and money to be return to
the front office by Thursday 21 September. This year there will be obstacles included. Be prepared to get wet. (Bring a towel and change of old clothes - NO BATHERS!).
