A n o t e f r o m t h e p u b l i s h e r :

When you have a child in need, where do you turn?

Hundreds of thousands of families in the Portland metro area face this

situation every year. Our kids have extra challenges like allergies, autism, gifted, ADD/ADHD, failure to thrive, learning delays, sensory processing disorder, cerebral palsy, asthma, orthopedic needs, food intolerances, developmental delays, speech/language delays,

feeding challenges, Aspergers, dyslexia, and many other diagnoses.

My own family has experienced multiple learning and medical

challenges. In fact, we’ve seen over 40 specialists in the metro area. So although I don’t know your personal story, I can say that I understand how difficult it can be to find the help your child needs.

That’s exactly why I created the Exceptional Child Resource Directory - to connect families with the local help their child needs - no matter

what the diagnosis. Because finding the help your family needs should not be hard.

The best part?

All the resources in this Directory are recommended by a family like

yours. It’s like getting a referral from a friend:)

Thanks for picking up the very first edition of the Exceptional Child Resource Directory!

All the best,

Teresa Denney

“When I think back to when

Nick started practicing yoga, I

am amazed at how far he has

come! He has grown so much in

his ability to follow several steps

of instructions..increasing

strength...Most importantly, he

is developing skills to calm him-

self through yoga poses and

breathing techniques. This is

especially helpful for him to cope

with some of the frustrations

that his autism can cause
