Strong sustainability orientation
We are working toward creating asustainability mindset with our students. They should be passionate about social, economic, environmental and resourcesustainability challenges. Global and cross-cultural orientation
We want to groom a generation ofthinkers, practitioners, and leaders whoare adept at solving both local and globalproblems with utmost global sensitivity.Global and cross- cultural sensitizationhas a much broader scope than justcultural sensitivity. Consultative Problem Solving
Typical problems our ancestors facedduring human evolution were simple, dangerous and warranted immediateaction. For example, sighting a lionprompts immediate action such as fight, flight or climb a tree. This kind of mentaladaptations has been evolved to makedecisions typically in a fraction of asecond. On the other hand, most of theproblems faced by people working inmodern organizations are distinctlydifferent from critical survival problems. These problems are typically complex, notdangerous and most of the times solutionscan wait. When faced with suchorganizational challenges, if problems areperceived as dangerous, people go forhasty solutions resulting in suboptimal oreven counterproductive outcomes. Wehelp our students develop a consultativeproblem-solving mindset. Specialattention will be given to framing andreframing as a way of finding innovativesolutions to the most challengingproblems faced by modern businesses.

Cross CulturalImmersionThe program has two optional cross-cultural immersion modules, one focusing onEurope and the other one in East Asia. Participants spend a week each at both theplaces learning and experiencing the respective cultures and the ways of organizing anddoing business in those cultures. Famous cultural anthropologist, Geert Hofstede seesculture as the collective programming of the mind. This immersion program givesparticipants an opportunity to peep into this programming and reflect on the similaritiesand differences with their own culture. We strongly recommend students to opt for boththe modules. The ultimate goal of CCI is to instill cultural sensitivity in the participants.
Students who are unable to participate in one or both CCI programs can opt for an Asiaor Europe focused independent study in the areas of strategy, marketing, consumerbehaviour, operations management or general management. We will provide all thelearning support to students to simulate the CCI experience.
