Stanford University Minority Medical Alliance (SUMMA)

Thirty-one years ago, Stanford medical students decided to organize the StanfordUniversity Minority Medical Alliance (SUMMA) Conference with the goal of increasingdiversity in the health professions to better care for underserved communities. TheSUMMA annual pre-medical conference is one of the oldest premed conferences on thewest coast and draws hundreds of students from throughout the Bay Area and nation. TheSUMMA Conference achieves its goal by offering a variety of workshops, presentations bykey faculty and professional staff, mock MMI interviews, networking with exhibitorsrepresenting medical and health profession schools from across the nation, andopportunities to meet Stanford medical and PA students from similar backgrounds andcultures. The SUMMA Conference is truly a unique experience in which conferenceattendees receive an in-depth experience of what it takes to enter and succeed inmedicine. The conference is ideal for pre-medical students considering medicine orallied health as a professional career.
