ENGLISH LANGUAGE
• You CAN “study” and prepare for the English Language exams.
• Language is not a content subject but a focus on language skills.
• Skills cannot be developed within a short period of time;
• but rather honed over a period of time;
• and therefore preparation needs to be consistent and early
Revision and Strategies
• The Mathematics Syllables is intended to provide students with the fundamental mathematical knowledge and skills
• EMB3 (English, NA Mathematics, Best 3) is used for calculation
• A Good Pass in NA Mathematics provides students with a head start in Sec 5. A Good Pass is required for PFP (Grade 3) and DPP (Grade 4)
• A Pass in Mathematics opens up options for Post Secondary School Education (Junior Colleges, Millennia Institute, Polytechnics, ITEs)
• One of the relevant subjects for JC & MI & most polytechnic courses
Why is Mathematics Important?
How to PREPARE for Mathematics?
• Practice Makes Perfect – ‘studying' the solution booklet does not mean you are able to solve the problem
• ALGEBRA – Master this and half the battle is won
• Topical Revision – DO the TYS (one topic a week)
• Consistent Work – Last minute memorizing of formulas and solutions will not help in passing Mathematics
• Ask Questions – Seek help early
