EXPLORE – INSPIRE – ACTTo Save Our Planet

Our family has been living for over16 years in the outdoors. We learned to read the signs of nature and become a part of it.

The walls of our home is the horizon, and the sky is our roof.

We saw first-hand that our planet is sick.Climate change is a wake up call.

It’s time to save our planet.

We believe that education is key to this goal.Education encourages creative exploration that furthers our understanding of

our environment and its afflictions.

We explore the best practice solutions to preserve our planet’s diverse beauty. We ‘build bridges’ across borders to connect people from all corners of the

planet and inspire them to take action.

We give aboriginal communities a voice. They know about the essence of life.We should all listen and learn more from them: the importance of healthy

lands, healthy waters, healthy skies, and the interconnectedness of everything.

We collect data about our climate. Our climate shapes people, places, and cultures.

A deep understanding of our planet can lead to better relationships, solidarity, and peace.

We hope to show that peace is possible and diversity can benefit everyone.

On our expedition sailboat we have had volunteers of all ages hailing from 52 nations.

Over the past 16 years, TOPtoTOP has circumnavigated our blue planet conducting field-based research for universities, scientists and research organizations, visiting the world’s most remote regions and their native inhabitants, and sharing examples of innovative solutions to protect, preserve, and conserve our planet.

Dario Schwoerer, a Swiss climatologist and international ski-and mountain guide (UIAGM), experienced the fragile environment he refers to as “his office” degrading rapidly and decided to dedicate his life to educating the public on how to respect nature and protect it for future generations. Joined by his wife Sabine, they founded TOPtoTOP with the goal of being the first expedition traversing the seven seas and reaching the highest peaks on each of the seven continents, relying only on the power of nature and the human spirit.

The Schwoerer’s journey in their expedition sailboat Pachamama (Inca for Mother Earth) has taken them over 100,000 nautical miles to more than 100 countries. Along the way they have made presentations on climate change to more than 100,000 students. Their message is one of hope designed to inspire students and communities to act for a better future by sharing experiences of nature’s beauty and resiliency, and presenting innovations for a healthy planet.

Together, Dario and Sabine Schwoerer, their children and TOPtoTOP volunteers are collecting, documenting and disseminating vital first-hand climate impacts from around the world, teaching students to celebrate nature and protect their natural environments, and bringing a important message of hope to a planet seeking a healthy future.
