We are the College of ProfessionalStudies of South Jutland and aregional educational hub.

We train students for a total of 15specific professions and sectors, themain ones being teaching, socialeducation, nursing, and social work.

We’re always nearby. From Esbjerg toKolding, from Haderslev to Aabenraa,we’re close at hand with our special-ised and interdisciplinary centres foreducation and research environ-ments. TeachingAs a teacher, you have a dynamicand challenging working day duringwhich you create the framework forthe learning of others. You can teachat an elementary school, privateschool, continuation school, technicalschool, special school, adult educa-tion college, or other institutions foreducating children, young people,and adults.

Whether you’re passionate aboutsport, language, science, or some-thing else, we give you the opportu-nity to hone your teaching skills in thedirection you want. You shape yourprofile and decide which sort ofteacher you want to be.

Business Language andIT-based MarketingCommunicationThis programme is for those whowant to work with marketing-orientedcommunication. The programme isbased on two main areas: languageand communication/marketing.

During the programme, you’ll learnwhat good communication and mar-keting involves and how to achieveboth using IT as your toolbox. You’lllearn the theory and practice youneed to be a professional interna-tional marketing communicator.

Social EducationAs a social educator you’ll always bemeeting new people in a variety ofcircumstances and situations. You’llneed to navigate ethnic, social, andpersonal differences and livingconditions. This demands somethingof you as a person – commitment,empathy, and independence. Inreturn you’ll be helping people, whichmakes it all worthwhile.

You’ll gain an in-depth knowledge ofsocial education, specialising in eitherday-care education, school and lei-sure education, or social and specialneeds education.

Social EducationAssistantSocial education assistants comefrom a variety of backgrounds.Perhaps you already work in socialeducation and want a qualification inrecognition of your skills.

You’ll be taught subjects such associal education, psychology, andcommunication in the context of so-cial education, as well as cultural ex-pressions and practices. We providelots of opportunities to keep you onthe move during the day – it’s not justa case of sitting, listening, reading,and discussing, but also keeping yourbody active during the programme.

Bachelor ofAdministrationOur Bachelor of Administrationprogramme is for those who want toenhance their skills working withadministration in a broad sense.

Social WorkSocial workers provide guidance topeople with social problems. You willsolve conflicts and bring aboutchange in people’s lives when theyare unable to empower themselves. Asocial worker is often a key personwho co-ordinates co-operationbetween several professions in orderto solve the problems that a personneeds help with. We’ll put you in goodstead to provide this.

You’ll meet many different peoplefrom many different backgrounds.You must therefore be good atcommunicating with positivity andhave the desire and ability tocommunicate with many differenttypes of people.

Graphic CommunicationThis isn’t just about taste, aesthetics,and what looks good. Visual commu-nication is a science. You mustdevelop communication solutions thatwill have an impact on the varioustarget groups that you have to appealto.

This programme is for those with aninterest in graphic design, advertising,film and TV graphics, magazinedesign, logos, and many more areasin which communication is visual.You’ll learn about marketing andbranding, as well as about creatingstrategic designs, shape, colour,typography, and layout.

Sound Design – Mediaand SonocommunicationThis programme is for those whowant to use their musical talent toembark on a professional careercombining music with employmentwithin the creative sector of thelabour market; such as audio forfeature films, advertising, documen-taries, computer games, apps, radio,theatre, electric cars, and welfaretechnology.

Behind the slightly cryptic name“media and sonocommunication” (theofficial title of the programme) is no-thing less than Denmark’s most inten-sive programme for composing anddesigning sound using a computer.

Biomedical LaboratoryScienceThis programme is for those who areinterested in health care and naturalsciences. You can study subjects suchas chemistry, physiology, and patho-logy.

Bioanalysts play a vital role at hospi-tals and research laboratories acrossDenmark. Their test results are part ofalmost every doctor’s diagnosis andtreatment of patients.

You can select your specialism basedon whether you want a job that has ahigh level of patient contact or onethat is more lab-based.

Laboratory TechnicianWhether you’re chewing a piece ofgum, painting the living room, playingwith Lego, or you have to take medi-cine, a laboratory technician hasbeen involved at some point in theprocess.

Laboratory technicians work oneverything from food control, theaquatic environment, pharmaceu-ticals, and chemicals to the funda-mental research at universities acrossthe country.

The programme alternates between50% theory and 50% practical labwork.

MidwiferyAs a midwife you’ll be familiar withthe body’s structure, how a pregnan-cy progresses, and how a foetusgrows and develops. You will be ableto oversee the entire pregnancy andoffer guidance according to a varietyof lifestyles.

You are also a key figure at the birth.You’ll be able to guide the parentsthroughout the pregnancy and lookafter the physical and mentalwellbeing of mother and child alike,both when things are going smoothlyand in the event of complications.

You will be a part of creating a familyand will play a key role in the newfamily’s first hours together.

NursingAs a nurse you’ll work with people ofall ages and from all walks of life. It’simportant that you understand andcan interpret a patient’s variousexpressions to ensure their nursingcare is individual and has a soundprofessional footing.

You’ll have close contact with peopleand will play a key role in their treat-ment, not only in your nursing activi-ties but also through human inter-action.

As a nurse you will regularlyencounter challenges that willdemand a lot of your professionalacumen and practical skills.

PhysiotherapyThe physiotherapy programme givesyou a strong skill set for treatingpeople who are unwell and helpinghealthy people to stay that way.

As a physiotherapist your key skills willbe working with the human body andits mobility, health, and function. Youwill investigate, treat, rehabilitate,and advise people suffering frompain or disability and offerprophylactic treatment that promotesgood health.

During your studies you’ll learn how tomanage the close contact that you asa physiotherapist will have with yourpatients.

Occupational TherapyAs an occupational therapist you’llhelp to shape people’s day-to-daylives. You’ll help to make a differenceto people whose lives are limited orchallenged by a lack of mobility dueto illness or injury.

Occupational therapy also involvespromoting good health and a goodquality of life by way of meaningfulactivity. Activity is everything that wedo in our day-to-day lives, physically,mentally, and socially.

The objectives of occupationaltherapy are always to make indivi-duals as self-reliant as possible.

Nutrition and HealthOur Bachelor’s Degree in Nutritionand Health is designed for those whowant a comprehensive education inhealth that provides a skill set thatenables you to work with food andmeals, as well as with people andhealth.

You’ll be able to master tasks withincommunication, teaching, manage-ment, and treatment, with a constantfocus on nutrition, food, consumption,service, and upkeep in relation to thepromotion of good health.

After a common foundation year, youcan choose to specialise in nutritionand management or health promo-tion and dietetics.
