Composting yard waste and kitchen scraps is one of the easiest thing you can do to reduce waste and build soil for your backyard. Helen Freilich, Waste Reduction Specialist for Clallam county and the city of Port Angeles, will teach you how to compost yard waste in piles, bins, and turning systems. You will learn how to compost food waste using worm bins, food digesters, and by garden burial. Participants receive a copy of the book Home Composting Made Easy. Area 2 - 10:45–11:45 ONE SIMPLE STEP TO MAKE YOUR HOME MORE COMFORTABLE AND SAVE MONEY A home energy audit will provide homeowners with energy- saving techniques and will look at sources of air leakage, the efficiency of the building’s heating and cooling systems, and common air quality and energy issues found. is will also help educate homeowners about energy efficiency opportunities that will save money on utility bills, take advantage of utility rebate opportunities and prevent greenhouse gas emissions. Join the professionals, Dustin Halverson & Jeanne’ Sparks from All Weather Heating & Cooling to learn how pressure, moisture, heat flow and air quality can make your home frail and uncom- fortable, and what can be done to fix it! He will also cover what instances might require a permit, and specialized financing for manu-factured homes.
