luckier following her husband's death who she left during the liberation war againstthe Pakistani occupation army and stayed with Brigadier Aslam, her paramour.
All her life Khaleda was loyal to the senior Pakistani officers and being a

Janjua when he died, an ISI boss who was behind the killing of Bangalees
during the liberation war.Being twice prime minister of Bangladesh she reaped
immense riches for the members of her family who her husband left with a brokensuitcase when he was assassinated by the pro-liberation army officers due to his
pro-Pakistani stance. Now Khaleda's son is the richest young man of Bangladeshwho owns big real estates in the middle East, Malaysia and in the the Gold Coast

It appears from the media reports that Begum Zia had mentioned 5th Sept. and then 19th Augustas her birthday in her school and in her bio-data during elections in 1991 respectively.
Obviously, none of these dates can be confused with the 15th August!
Sometimes people use to change their birthday in order to facilitate their entry into government
service for which there is a fixed age limit, but in Begum Zia's case no such compulsion was
there.
Now the valid question is what made a sensible person like her to change the birth date to 15thAug. Is it to belittle the tragic day on which the father of the nation Sheikh Mujib and his family
were most brutally killed? We cannot find any rational explanation of this quite irrational
behaviour.
This appears to be a kind of endorsement of the heinous crimes committed on that very day!
What a pity!
Khaleda Zia was born to Iskandar Majumder and Taiyaba Majumder atDinajpur
Districton the 15th August, 1945 (the other dates of birth Khaleda Zia used in the
past were August 5, 1944Marriage certificate; September 5, 1946transcript;
August 19, 1947record of prime ministerial oath; August 15, 1947press
secretary; August 15, 1946 application formelectoral candidacy. She started
celebrating 15th August as her birthday after she lost power toSheikh Hasinain1996 election. The critics say she deliberately chose this date just to hurt her
opponent since it is a great day of mourning for Hasina when most of her family
members were brutally murdered by some members of Bangladesh Army).
