Landscaping works. The works related to the Construction of Doha Expressway Package 6 -

4. INSPECTION TESTING
AII precast interlock paving block and loose aggregates delivered to site shall conform to the
Contract Documents Specification requirements.
AII deliveries must be visually checked for flaws in the production of precast interlock paving
and loose aggregates.
In accordance with the Contract Documents and Approved
Ouality Plan requirements ,
on satisfactory completion
of
the inspection by Supervision Consultants, clearance must be
obtained for the next activity.
5. RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Manager is responsible for ensuring that the work is r m e d in accordance with
the specifications and within the time and cost constraints. Control and monitor overall
project activities, including financial , technical , commercial , logistics, mechanical electrical ,
quality
,
safety health and environmental management functions.
Construction Manager is responsible for ensuring that the landscaping works are carried
in accordance with the contract drawings/approved shop drawings ,

7 2 Site Planning Preparation

sub-grade sample test result shall be submitted to the Supervision Consultant for
approval prior to them being used on site, and shall comply in all respects with the QCS
2010 , Section 6 (Roadwork). No material will be used on site prior to receiving the
above-mentioned approvals.
Prior to placing any material on the permanent works area , it shall be ensured with
subsequent written approval from the Supervision Consultant.
Sub-grade material shall be brought to site directly from the stockpiles in covered truck
and tipped directly
on
to the area
in
which the material is to be used.
Vehicles shall
be
entering the areas through designated access points.
Spreading o the sub-grade material will be done by means of a mechanical grader.
Sub-grade shall be constructed in layers not exceeding 200 mm compacted
thicknesses, as detailed in the specification.
Wherever an overall thickness of sub-grade is greater than 200mm , the material shall
be placed and compacted in more than one equal layer
,
however
,
in no case shall be
the layers be less than 75mm thick.
The prepared sub-grade shall be compacted using by vibrating drum rollers of at least
15 ton operating weigh t
Rolling shall be continuous until the entire thickness of each layer in thoroughly
compacted to an average value of 95 of its MDD.
Any areas inaccessible by normal compaction equipment such as kerb lines, and
around gully pots, manholes etc. Shall be compacted by mechanical equipment, i e.
plate compactor or hand roller.
Upon completion of the compaction operations ,
each area/layers shall be submitted
the Supervision Consultant through an inspection request for his subsequent approval
8. PARTICULAR SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

These shall be presented at toolbox meetings prior to commencement of these works
and then on regular intervals.
Before commencing any work the safe operation of the related equipment as well as
safe work method shall be explained to all personnel that are involved at a toolbox
meeting by the Supervisor Safety responsible for that area. Any new employee shall
also be inducted into the operating procedures of that area.
AII plant and equipment are to be inspected and approved as required by the contract
documents.
9 PARTICULAR ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION MEASURES
The environmental protection measures relating to landscaping works will be as
defined
in
the Health
,
Safety and Environmental Plan.
No
other special environmental
protection measures need to be considered then to keep the dust control to a level as
appropriate to the surrounding environment
10. HSE PROCEDURES
10 1 In the event of an emergency, the Supervisor in Charge shall act as the Rescue team
Leader and the following shall be activated:

Evacuate them to assembly point and await further instructions.
If it is safe to do so ,
to put out a fire with potable fire extinguisher. Attempt
