SUPPLEMENTARY REGULATIONS: PART TWO

1. Acceptance of Entry: Your entry in the Copthorne Bay of Islands Far North Rally 2017 promoted by the Auckland Car Club, the Hibiscus Coast Motorsport Club, the Northern Sports Car Club and the Northland Car Club is accepted, subject to full completion of Documentation and Scrutineering. A preliminary seedling list is attached. Late entries will be integrated into the list in the appropriate seeding order, so your final number may change. Also attached is a Map of the Rally Route and Itinerary.

2. Emergency Telephone Number: The Emergency Telephone Number for the event will be 0800 RALLYE (0800-725-593).

3. Documentation and Audit Scrutineering: The venue details referred to in Supplementary Regulations Part one, Para 6 are: The AUCKLAND venue is at VTNZ (Vehicle Testing NZ), Spartan Rd, Takanini, on Thursday, 15 June 2017 between the hours of 5:30pm and 8:30pm. For competitors heading north along the Southern Motorway, depart at the Takanini off ramp and take the left-hand right turning lane at the lights. Turn right at the lights, then at approximately 100 metres turn left into Spartan Rd. VTNZ is straight ahead – follow the entry signs. For competitors heading south along the Southern Motorway, depart at the Takanini off ramp and take the right hand lane at the lights. Turn right at the lights, then at approximately 100 metres turn right into Spartan Rd. VTNZ is straight ahead – follow the entry signs. It is COMPULSORY for all AUCKLAND competitors to attend the Auckland Documentation/Scrutineering venue on Thursday 15 June 2017. If you are unable to attend due to a legitimate reason, please advise the Clerk of the Course, James Logan on 027-575-8688 to request dispensation no later than Tuesday 13 June 2017. Failure to attend the compulsory Documentation/ Audit Scrutineering will considered a breach of Schedule P, Penalty NSC.4 and will result in a $500 penalty. The PAIHIA venue is at the Paihia Fire Station (this is the NEW station), Selwyn Rd, Paihia on Friday 16 June 2017 between the hours of 5.30pm and 7.00pm. All competitors must bring their overalls and helmets to Audit Scrutineering. All competitors must present their Motorsport licence card, car club membership card, civil drivers licence and log book (if they have one) at Documentation.

4. Briefing: A written briefing is included in each competitor pack that you will receive at Documentation. It is your responsibility to read it as there will be no verbal briefing. An additional written briefing is appended in the front of the road book. Please take note of the Accident & Emergency Procedure, particularly the section on obstruction. New Competitors: Those competitors – driver and/or co-driver – having competed in less than three rallies, as shown on the entry form, must report for a verbal briefing at the Paihia Fire Station (this is the NEW station), Selwyn Rd on Friday.16 June 2017 at 7:00pm.

5. The Start: A start list will be posted on the official notice board by 9:00pm on Friday 16 June 2017 at the Copthorne Bay of Islands Hotel, Tau Henare Drive, Paihia. The official start will be in the Car Park on Williams Rd, Paihia. Competitors must assemble in the car park at least 15 minutes before their official start time and proceed to the start area in the car park under direction of the marshals.

6. The Finish: The first car is due to finish at approximately 4:10pm at the Copthorne Hotel. Sunset is approximately 5:16pm, therefore competitors further down the field may wish to use auxiliary lighting.

7. Vehicle Recovery: The local 4x4 wheel club will be doing vehicle recovery but the arrangement is that they will return your car to the road, if possible. Any further towage is by private arrangement between the competitor and a tow company. Competitors will be charged $75.00 to be winched back onto the road or $35.00 for a simple tow out of a ditch. Competitors will be invoiced for this after the event.

8. Competitor Responsibilities: Competitors must report any damage to fences or private property to a Rally Official (preferably the Competitor Relations Officers (Ben Aro 027-491-9369 or Ian Barlow 027-766-4420) in writing using the Incident Report form provided in the back of the road book at the earliest opportunity. Failure to report damage may incur additional costs being charged to the competitor in addition to the actual costs of repair. Reference Standing Regulations Manual 35 Appendix 3 Schedule R Para 6.1 (b). It is mandatory for any competitor or service crew who have been issued with a traffic offence or warning notice during a rally to fully report the incident in writing with details to the Clerk of the Course or his assistant not later than 30 minutes after their actual reporting time at the end of the leg in which the incident occurred.

9. Stage Notes: Stage notes will be available at Thursday and Friday nights Documentation. Stage note requests must be done through the www.namsport.co.nz website. The cost is $250 (incl. GST).

10. Placement of Decals: a) Copthorne Bay of Islands Hotel door banner to be placed at the top of the driver and

passenger doors. b) Top Half Rally Series sticker to be placed in the A1 position.

11. Servicing: The maximum distance between fuel stops is 100 km. You will need to work out your priorities and best re-fuel points. Competitors are asked to make a compulsory gold coin donation to the Mobil car wash in Kaitaia (see the route book for details). Note only one service vehicle per competitor is allowed in the Te Ahu Service Park.

12. Lunch Stop: The lunch stop will be on South Road/State Highway 1, Kaitaia at the Te Ahu Community Centre. Coffee and some food will be available inside the Te Ahu Community Centre. Please help us by supporting the Far North District Council and Community Groups, (food is also available in town). A ground sheet must be used when servicing. You must take all your rubbish with you when you leave.

13. Changing of Co-Drivers: As per Appendix Three Schedule R Article 2.4 it will be permissible to change a co-driver during the event. This may be carried out at the lunch break or at other points by contacting the CRO. A request to change co-driver must be made to the Clerk of the Course through the CRO. PLEASE NOTE: the replacement co-driver must comply with section 4.6(2) of these supplementary regulations. A change of co-driver will exclude the driver from results.

14. Prizes: Trophies will be awarded to the Overall Place getters (1st, 2nd, and 3rd) and all Class Place getters (1st, 2nd, 3rd) will receive a medal. Other donated prizes will be handed out at the discretion of the organising committee.

17. Rallysafe:

All units will be handed out to competitors on Thursday 15 June 2017 between 5:30pm and 8.30pm at VTNZ Takanini and Friday 16 June 2017 between 5:30pm and 7:00pm at the Paihia Fire Station, Selwyn Rd. Once the event starts on Saturday morning the Rallysafe unit must not be switched off until the finish at the Copthorne Hotel, Paihia. You MUST have a RallySafe wiring loom installed prior to the event. For those not familiar with the operation of RallySafe, or to arrange purchase of the wiring loom, you can find more information here: http://rallysafe.com.au/competitors-tm/

18. Competitor Relations Officers: The Competitor Relations Officers, Ben Aro 027-491-9369 or Ian Barlow 027-766-4420 will be at the START, LUNCH, FINISH and some service areas.

19. Competitors are Reminded: Documentation Procedure: Upon successful documentation you may be asked to present your car for audit scrutineering but please note that specific checks will be required for some items. You will be directed to the appropriate official by the documentation staff.

20. Withdrawals: Withdrawal from the Rally MUST be reported to a Rally Official at the earliest opportunity even if intending to re-join. This also applies if withdrawing on a touring section. A Notification of Withdrawal form is included in the Road Book.

21. Prize giving: Prize giving will be held in the Copthorne Hotel Reception Lounge at 8:00pm on Saturday 17 June 2017. Some complimentary finger foods will be served but we suggest you eat before attending prize giving as some food places might be closed by the time you leave prize giving.

22. Judge of Fact: The judge of fact jumpstart is the Start Marshal.
