EUROPEAN GUIDELINES FOR

GENERAL PRACTICIONERS

(in collaboration with Lifting the Burden)

Welcome to the 3rd European Headache and Migraine

Trust International Congress 2012

We are honoured to chair the 3rd Joint Biennial Congress of the Migraine Trust and the European Headache Federation. Following the success of Nice in 2010, EHMTIC can truly claim to be the premier international event for neurologists, physicians, scientists, researchers, and international experts and healthcare professionals with an interest in migraine and headache disorders. We are delighted to be returning to London in the year that the host city also welcomes the Olympics. The European Headache and Migraine Trust International Congress (EHMTIC) 2012 will deliver a four programme in the latest available research, therapies, and developments from internationally acclaimed leaders in the field. Teaching Courses will be held prior to the start of the joint programme of lectures and we will finish with a public day for patients with migraine and headache disorders.

The 2012 meeting will be held at the London Hilton Metropole, London, UK from 20-23 September 2012. The hotel also offers 5* accommodation on site and is just 10 minutes walk from London's West End, close to Hyde Park and a short taxi ride to a great choice of museums and galleries. We look forward to welcoming you to the 3rd European Headache and Migraine Trust International Congress in London in September 2012.

From modest beginnings, the association has quickly developed into the exceptional support organisation and influential campaigner that it is today. This development has been recognised in the form of the ‘Irish Patient Association of the Year' award and the ‘Best use of Information Technology' national award for our website: www.migraine.ie.The association is a member of the World Headache Alliance (WHA), the European Headache Alliance (EHA) and the Neurological Alliance of Ireland (NAI). Through these organisations, the interests of our migraineur members are widely represented and recognised. The MAI is now world-renowned for its energy and determination in providing up-to-date quality information and advice, promoting the best treatment for migraine sufferers and raising awareness among health professionals and the general public about what can be a particularly debilitating condition.
