CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY DATABASE - VENDOR REGISTRATIONS

Why has this vendor registration program (VRP) been undertaken? Whatwill be the outcome of this process?

Project Owners in the construction industry spend large amounts of resources in the process of finding appropriate vendors of products and services.

Since each Project Owner spends the money separately from others, there isa duplication of efforts and wastage of precious time and money

With this VRP, CIDC is establishing a central data–base for suppliers of all types of Products and Services from India and abroad to avoid this national wastage.

CIDC has in place a rigorous inspection and verification system in the process of registration to ensure that the database developed, is of credible and competent vendors.

Who will benefit from this database?

The database will be representative of the demands of the construction sector in India and South East Asia and encourage project owners and implementers to log in to the same for finding the right match for their requirements. Some envisaged benefits are listed below:

1. Better and more efficient procurement of services and goods

2. Better authenticity and capability assessment of the supplier and listed organizations

3. Regular updation of the database

4. Faster turnaround time for ready to project

5. Crisis management for project exigencies

The Project Owners in Construction Industry, will henceforth have access to a credible central data-base for sources of procurement of goods and services from India and abroad.
