MOVING YOUR BUSINESS FORWARD
With around 500 outlets LeClerc is one of the largest retail chains in France. The shops are supplied from 16 strategically located distribution centres. Four of these distribution centres have fully automated cross-docking systems installed by Vanderlande.
Scachap in Ruffec was installed in 2000, and handles fresh products such as fruit, vegetables, dairy products and meat in a temperature controlled environment. The cross-docking system implies products are not held in stock, but are transshipped directly to the shops: The ideal strategy for fresh products.
The main benefits for LeClerc are:
> Reduction in cost per case > Higher throughput per m2 > Better working conditions for employees > Higher accuracy > Full tracking and tracing
