A couple of weeks ago I took that food to the WRHS football team. Coach Westbrook was so thankful and even told me we needed an Instagram so he could give our church a shout out. September 2019

Hey Church Family,

Did you know that a small act of service can have a big impact? I was recently reminded, by the bookkeeper at Huntington Middle School, of this simple truth. Before the end of last school year, our GROW ministry sent cards of encouragement to all of the HMS faculty and staff. As we had a chance to prayer walk and serve snacks to the faculty and staff this year, Mrs. Nelms mentioned how the card is still on her desk and it brings encouragement each day. WOW! Small Act=Yes! Big Impact=Yes! Who would have thought one of those cards would still be providing encouragement months later? Honestly, I didn’t. (Which is probably more of a statement about my lack of faith than anything.)

Over the summer we continued to collect food for the Warner Robins Feeding Program. A couple of weeks ago I took that food to the WRHS football team. Coach Westbrook was so thankful and even told me we needed an Instagram so he could give our church a shout out. From the way the players stormed the room, they were thankful too! Small Act=Yes! Big Impact=Yes!

There are other examples I could share with you but really want to ask, “How can a small act have a big impact?” The answer is God! God has a way of taking our small acts and turning them into something with a big impact. God has a way of taking a small act and turning it into something with an eternity changing impact. As we look forward, what small act of service can you do for a friend, neighbor, co-worker, or family member? What impact could it have if God got involved!?!? I sense the tides are turning and we’re about to experience a mighty work of God. Will you be in the game or watch from the side-lines?

Love,

Pastor Casey

What you do matters. Do you believe that phrase? I think all would agree with it in some manner or an-other. Isn’t that what we teach our children? What you do will have some sort of consequence, positive or negative. However, it is easy to get lulled into the grind of the everyday. For many, the grind has re-turned since school has started back. Have you ever looked back over a period of time and wonder, “How did I get here?” If you believe what you do matters, here is the encouragement.

Set yourself and your family to seek the Lord. Determine what action steps you need to take and start taking them today. Throughout 2 Chronicles, you read that various kings came and went and how their leadership impacted the direction of the nation of Judah. Kings that did right in the eyes of the Lord led in such a way that the nation followed suit. On the contrary, those that did evil in the Lord’s sight led the nation astray and into the judgment of the Lord. Read the whole book. Or if you can only read part of it, check out chapters 26-29. What am I trying to get across to you? First, what direction are you heading in life? Do you intentionally seek the Lord each day and week? I challenge you to set your focus on God and His Word because what you do (or don’t do) matters. Remove the distractions and the things that trip you up. Second, each day lead your family to do the same. If what you do matters, know that even the smallest things done for the Lord and to lead others to Him can have a significant impact over the course of time. I pray we are a generation sold out to walking each day by faith and that you are raising up the next generation to do the same and even greater for His glory!
