The Porthmellon Enterprise Centre

(PEC) is a state-of-the-art building

with rentable floor space, providing

high quality, flexible managed

workspace with full disabled access,

and business support for the start-up

and existing businesses that have

high productivity, ambition and the

potential for growth.

Investment has been provided by the

ERDF (European Regional

Development Fund) and Council of

the Isles of Scilly.

The Centre can house up to 21

businesses with offices of varying

sizes, shared meeting room, break

out spaces, a shared workspace area

(Development Zone) to support the

development of early stage

businesses.

What is the Porthmellon

Enterprise Centre?

It has been designed to provide flexible

accommodation with units ranging in size

from 11.3m2

up to 34.5m2 to meet individual

business needs. In order to enhance

collaboration and networking within the

building, all central services including

reception, meeting room, breakout area and

communal kitchen are shared.

PEC is a low carbon building and will use

significantly less energy than a conventional

office building. The PEC has thermal voltaic,

solar voltaic and air source heat pumps to

provide a low cost constant environment

The Porthmellon Enterprise Centre project is part financed

European Regional Development Fund Programme 2007 to 2013.

The Department for Communities and Local Government is the

managing authority for the European Regional Development Fund

Programme, which is one of the funds established by the

European Commission to help local areas stimulate their economic

development by investing in projects which will support local

businesses and create jobs.

space. We are looking for applicants that

Unit rental allows 24/7 access to a safe, secure and private office/

workspace. The flexible design of the building allows us to offer

accommodation for up to 6 people in the same area.
