education «Don State Technical University» (DSTU); agroindustrial holding

«Bizon» LLC. Cluster members are also: Self-regulatory organization union

of winegrowers and winemakers of the Don and Volga; Branch of VTB

Bank (PJSC) in Rostov-on-Don; Travel Company «Tatyana Travel Tour»

LLC; Hotel «Elbuzd»; Congress hotel «Don-Plaza»; distributor and logistic

operator at the alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages market «Michelle

Alco» LLC; oak barrels for wines and cognacs producer «Don barrels» LLC;

«Aurora typography» LLC; «Vinograd» LLC; «RostovOtdelstroy» LLC;

«Gidroremservice» LLC; «Gorod park» LLC. The supervising body of state

power is the Consumer Market Department of the Rostov Region.

Specialized organization (coordinator) – DSTU.

The main tasks of the Cluster include: training of highly qualified personnel; creation of a

successful federal retail network «Dolina Dona Wines»; complex tourist routes

development (eno, ethno, gastro и ecotour); growing of «Dolina Dona» brand awareness

throughout the Russian Federation and abroad; modernization of the industry with the

main specialization in the production of grapes and their processed products.


• Training of bachelors in the direction «Plant-based foods» 19.03.02,

«Fermentation technology and winemaking» section.

• In 2017, the first enrollment of training masters for the 19.04.02 direction «Plant-based foods» on the

educational program «Resource-saving technologies for storage and processing of plant materials»

was carried out.

• In 2018 the first graduation of bachelors of the 19.03.02 direction was carried out.

• 10 budget places received in 2018.

• «Winemaking and biotechnology» section created at the «Technique and technology of food

production» department.

• Jointly with the Cluster enterprises-participants research works are carried out in the educational and

scientific laboratory «Biochemical and spectral analysis of food».

• International experts in the field of viticulture and winemaking are involved in the educational process:

Javier Lopez and Evgeny Pavlovich Sholts-Kulikov.

• In order to train specialists in the complex processing of viticulture products, a new training direction

of «Biotechnology» has been opened (bachelors and masters).

In 2015, the Achba family from Kutol set up

a plantation for growing grapes in the

village of Labra, Ochamchira region, where

today about 300 thousand roots of this

berry grow. The first harvest meeting the

quality requirements was harvested two

years after planting the grapes. The

plantation has grown to 56 ha – about 300

thousand bushes of French grape varieties

brought from Italy – marselan, malbec,

cabernet sauvignon, merlot, Isabella.

Students undergo practical training in «Research Institute

Potapenko», at enterprises «Elbuzd», «Villa Zvezda», «Rostov

Factory of Champagne Wines». One student had an internship in

Georgia, at «Tiflis cellar» winery, where she studied Georgian wine

making technology. The practice is carried out outside the schedule

of the educational process – at the time of ripening, harvesting and

processing (August and September). After completing the

internship, employers are ready to hire graduates: there are

applications for technologists in «Elbuzd», «Villa Zvezda».

Second year student of direction «Plant-

based foods» Aslan Achba had an

internship at a family enterprise in Abkhazia

during self-isolation.

Faculty «Agribusiness» in the

educational process focuses on the

acquisition by students of the

competencies required by the

employer.

For this, cooperation with many

enterprises is being worked out, the list

of which is constantly being

replenished, various events are held

for acquaintances and joint work of

representatives of production,

as potential employers, with students

of the faculty.

«Dolina Dona» cluster is one of the

promising sites for such projects,

especially in the context of the

development of the section of

winemaking and biotechnology.

In the 2020-2021 academic year, it is planned:

• To continue students’ internships in industries and their subsequent

employment;

• creation of advanced training programs for graduate students of the

section «Winemaking and biotechnology»;

• expanding the range of partners ready to work with students in

projection formats and internships;

• development of educational programs containing as a mandatory stage

of training – on-the-job training with the involvement of representatives

of partner companies who regularly conduct seminars and lectures at

DSTU for students of the faculty of «Agribusiness».

The «Modern agriculture» classroom is developed together with the agro-technological holding «Bizon», which is a member of the territorial cluster «Dolina Dona» –

modern platform for the practical training of specialists in the field of agricultural technology and viticulture. In the classroom practical exercises are conducted on

samples of agricultural equipment from partner companies. The practice is as close as possible to working with real machinery and equipment, for example, the

simulation cabin of self-propelled sprayer is installed in the classroom Stara Imperador with built-in modern computer Topper 5500 VT and a game simulator.


Annual Student Festival of Project Activities «AGROFEST 2020» for students of faculties «Agribusiness» and «Media communications

and multimedia technologies» – a unique project, during which students carry out project work on business cases from partners-

enterprises, including cluster «Dolina Dona» members. Students must as a team solve production problems of a different nature in a very

limited time of the festival.
