Navy Commander Brad Boyer was honored with throwing out the first pitch. He is the father of 2 FCCJBL players (Josiah and Elias). Commander Boyer spent time in Iraq as part of the Multi-National
Forces – Iraq Law and Order Task Force in 2007/2008.

The 2008 FCCJBL Snack Bar was run as a pair of Bar Mitzvah “Mitzvah Projects” by Adam Genn and Lev Podelko. Adam took the season off to run the snack bar with his mom and dad Michelle and Alan Genn. Lev both played in the Majors and ran the snack bar with his mom and dad Marina Sapir and Alex Poldelko. Proceeds from the snack bars were donated to charities of the Bar Mitzvah families’ choice.
