Halloween Skates Friday, October 26 4:30-6pm Not-So-Spooky Skate 8-10pm Spooky Skate

Wear your Halloween best and enter the costume contest (with prizes) during the Not- So-Spooky Skate. The Spooky Skate will feature creepy music and a darkened rink lit by a spinning ball. $6.50 includes admission and skate rental.

Veteran’s Day Skate Sunday, November 11 3 sessions: 8:30-10am, 112:30-2:30pm, and 4:30-6:30pm

Free skating and skate rentals for all military person-nel (veterans and active duty) and their families.

Keep Your Neighbors Warm Skate Friday, November 16 4 sessions: 8-10am, 12:30-2:30pm, 4:30-6pm & 8-10pm

Dig through your closets and help keep your neighbors warm! Bring your new or gently used winter clothing (coats, hats, gloves etc.) and skate for just $3.50 (includes admission and skate rental) Please bring at least one item per admission. Your donations will go to the National Alliance on Mental Illness in Montgomery County.

No school? No problem! Bring your 6-12 year-olds to Cabin John Ice for a Park Play Day! On many of the days Montgomery County Public Schools are off, Park Play Days are on! Your kids will enjoy a day full of fun, including an ice skating lesson, arts & crafts, and fun team games and sports.

Hours: 9am-5pm Fee: $40 for the day! Register at ParkPASS.org. Upcoming dates include: September 17 & 26; October 19; November 5 & 6; December 26--28; January 21 & 22, and February 18.

Cabin John Public Skating Sessions

Pro Shop The Cabin John Pro Shop offers everything you’ll need, whether you’re a hockey player, recreational or figure skater. We offer skates and equipment for all levels of hockey players, including Easton© and CCM© products.

For figure skaters, we offer skating boots (including Jackson© and Riedell© brands), blades, skating apparel, and ZÜCA® Sport All-Around Gear Bags.

Full skate services, including sharpening and blade mounting, are also available.

Party Rooms Party rooms at Cabin John Ice are availa-ble to rent for $50/hour for your next birthday, office or holiday party!

Each room has a capacity of 25. Multiple rooms may be reserved to accommodate

larger parties (up to 75 for the three rooms).

If you’d like to skate during your party or event, be sure to reserve the party room during or adjacent to a public skating session (see schedule at right). Or if you’d like your own private skating rink, reserve the Studio or NHL Rink for your party!

Leased Ice Rent the Studio Rink (maximum capacity 40) for $185/hour for small parties, hockey, or activities such as broomball. Skates may be rented for an additional fee.

The NHL Rink or Olympic Rink (maximum capacity 450 each) may be rented when available. These rinks are perfect for school events and large parties. The fee for either is $325/hour, which includes ad-mission for the first 100 guests. Additional guests enjoy discounted admission. Skates may be rented for an additional fee.

General Information Cabin John Ice Rink Fall 2012 - Winter 2013

Cabin John Café The Cabin John Café offers a variety of great cold and hot drinks, snacks and quick meals.

Beverages: Soft drinks, coffee, hot chocolate, cappuc-cino, milk. Purchase a 32-ounce souvenir cup for $5 (includes soft drink) and refills are only $1! Breakfast: Bagels and cream cheese, muffins, pastries; hot or cold cereal and milk; juice and fruit. Lunch/Dinner: Pizza, hot dogs, chicken nuggets, fries. Snacks & Desserts: Hot pretzels, nachos, fresh fruit smoothies, candy, brownies, freshly baked cookies, pudding, ice cream. Healthy Choices: Organic gluten-free snacks; granola bars, nuts, energy bars and drinks.

Cabin John Internet Café Work or play on the web while your kids skate!

Wi-Fi is available at the Cabin John Café. Ask at the front desk for the network password.

Private Lessons Private lesson fees vary between $34- $48 per half hour, plus applicable admission fees and skate rent-als (if needed). To arrange for private lessons, simp-ly complete a Private Lesson Request Form, and the instructor will contact you directly to set up the lesson. Private lesson brochures and request forms are available at the rink and CabinJohnIce.com.

Group Discounts A group rate of $6.50 per person (includes admission and skates) is available Monday–Friday for organized groups of ten or more attending Public Skates be-tween 9am and 6pm. Please make arrangements at least 48 hours in advance in order to receive the group rate. Not applicable on national or Montgomery Coun-ty Public School holidays, and may not be available during all sessions.

Discount Books & Passes Discount ticket books (10 tickets per book) for admis-sion to Public Sessions are available for $55 (good for all ages). Discount tickets do not guarantee admission if rink is at capacity, and are not refundable if lost. Skate rentals are additional. Drop-In Session Frequent Passes good for Stick ‘n’ Puck or Pick-Up Hockey ses-sions are also available (ten for $108, regular $120).

Group Lessons 30-minute lessons................................. $ 96/series 45-minute lessons................................. $144/series

Fees cover six (6) 30- or 45-minute lessons, use of rental skates during lessons, and six (6) or nine (9) practice sessions. Practice sessions must be taken during the course of the current lesson series.

Please allow two business days for your ParkPASS account to be activated. Fees must be paid at time of registration. Please make checks payable to M-NCPPC ($35 fee for returned checks). Master-Card and Visa are accepted in person or online.

Please note: In order to provide the best ice possible, “Zamboni breaks” are taken at the mid-point of some skating sessions in order to resurface the ice. The scheduling of breaks is determined by rink management and crowd size.
