Assertiveness: Communicating with confidence and respect can be a challenge. This class will examine factors that cause people to neglect assertiveness and how to overcome these obstacles.

Basic Conflict Management: Many professionals avoid conflict for a variety of reasons. This class provides a basic model for managing conflict in the workplace and specific examples of how to do so. The VOMP (Ventilate, Own, Moccasins and Plan) model is introduced with video examples.

Business Basics and Etiquette: This class is designed to give all employees an understanding of why business basics are important, explain expected professional behavior and help set up a plan and expectations for a solid career.

Communication Skills at Work: This course was developed by a USLI leader with over 30 years’ experience in corporate communications and public speaking. Learn about the tools needed to engage in social conversation with confidence, how to communicate the objective clearly and become more assertive in communicating, especially when handling aggressive behaviors.

Creative Problem Solving: Creative problem solving is a concept you may be unfamiliar with, but it has the power to create a gateway to constant change, increase communication across teams and improve problem solving skills and productivity. In this course you will learn how to apply these techniques in real-world situations.

Delegation: This course is designed for professionals who struggle with delegating. Delve into a step-by-step process on how to effectively delegate, as well as learn how to overcome the fear of delegation and avoid previous mistakes.

Effective Business Writing: Create an exceptionally written correspondence by addressing a specific audience with a clearly stated purpose, proper punctuation and grammar, and explore examples of common writing blunders and how to fix them.

Effective Presentation Skills: Give credible and confident presentations by learning how to structure a presentation, review WIIFM (What’s In It For Me), manage speaker anxiety and project confidence.

Phone Fundamentals: Receiving or making an appreciable phone call can create a positive impression about employees and the workplace. Learn concepts such as active listening while on the phone, initiating and closing a call, receiving a call and leaving a voicemail.

Recruiting and Interviewing: Knowing how to effectively recruit and interview candidates can be overwhelming. This class will discuss how to read and evaluate resumes, get the most out of telephone screenings, conduct a positive interviews, ask behavior-based questions and evaluate all of the facts.

Teamwork: Create a team environment where people want to work by recognizing why teams are utilized, identifying how to develop and maintain a team, creating an environment where team members feel they add value and identifying how to break down barriers that have a negative impact on teams.

Time Management: Does it seem like there is never enough time in the day? This class will explore the top four time wasters, including procrastination, ineffective meetings, not being able to say “no” and a disorganized workspace.

Was that a career limiting move?” and discuss the secrets of career success.

Business Basics: This instructor-led training is geared to give all employees an understanding of why business basics are important, explain what is expected in professional behavior and how to grow and succeed at USLI.

Delegating Effectively: Avoiding the Pitfalls: Building an environment of confidence and trust means letting go of some of the tasks you’re comfortable doing and letting your team members take on more responsibility. Once you are comfortable delegating, you will feel more confident focusing on developing your team. In this session, we’ll talk about how to get comfortable delegating for success.

All About Antioxidants: This course is designed to discuss what antioxidants are, which foods contain them, the benefits and risks of their consumption and how much you actually need on a daily basis.

Alzheimer’s Disease: The Basics: Alzheimer’s is a chronic neurodegenerative disease and affects more than 5 million Americans presently. Learn general knowledge about disease onset, common signs and symptoms to look for, plus ways to cope with a family member who has been diagnosed.

Benefit Workshop Series: Blood Pressure and Your Health: This workshop will talk about the correlation between blood pressure and overall health. We will also discuss strategies to manage blood pressure and lower stress levels.

Benefit Workshop Series: Mental Health, Emotional Awareness and Your Benefits: During this workshop we will talk about the topic of mental and emotional wellness, how to recognize signs of depression and anxiety among other mental illnesses as well as the benefits and resources we have available to us.

Caring for the Caregiver: Few people are prepared for the responsibilities and tasks involved in caring for the elderly, and many do not have a choice. The primary necessity of being a good caregiver is learning to take care of yourself. This workshop outlines strategies for caring for the caregiver. It will help participants understand the types of caregiver stress, review and prepare a checklist for the care-receiver and caregiver, and learn tips and coping strategies for the caregiver. The workshop reviews the grieving process, as well as the Caregiver’s Bill of Rights.
