Congratulations to Christine Bobek, NP, who has been chosen to be recognized as the Fall 2009 DFM Most Valuable Team Player. Chris has been the recipient of several Caught in the Act awards and

acknowledged by patients and peers who made the following comments about her:

I have been going through some stressful moments because of my health...and what has helped me get through it has been the compassion and excellent care that Christine Bobek has consistently demonstrated to me. She has gone above and beyond to help me with my health by calling to check up on me, returning my emails quickly and helping me to secure needed appointments with specialists at UIC. I am truly grateful for

all that she has done for me on my road to better health.

Chris is a caring, compassionate clinician who is very attentive to her patients’ needs, both physically and emotionally. The Depart-

ment is very lucky to have Chris as she truly represents what family medicine is all about! Ms. Bobek took the time to personally call me once the results of my lab work came in to follow up as to how I was feeling. To my

surprise...first class service. I have shared my experience with family and friends...thank you!

Congratulations Christine and thank you for your outstanding service to the DFM and UIC!

FMC EMPLOYEES RECEIVE UIMC AWARDS

This past summer, the DFM launched its newly designed website and we invite you to take a look! The project was part of a University- wide initiative to provide a more user-friendly and consistent appearance to numerous UIC websites. The Residency, PreDoctoral, Re-search, and Department sections have all been completely updated. The new News & Events section allows quick access to DFM employee related news as well as important events oc-curring in the DFM. The DFM Newsletter archives provide complete access to all previously published newsletters. We hope that you will find the information helpful. The website is

available at: http://chicago.medicine.uic.edu/departments___programs/departments/fammed/ The redesign was a long process executed by Jeff Korba, IT Specialist, Liz Hawes, Admin Coord and Abby Irvine, Resi-dency Coord; their hard work, and creativity in producing a quality website is greatly appreciated. If you have any com-

ments or suggestions, please direct them to Meg Oberholtzer at [email protected].
