I am delighted to welcome you all to our inaugural Family Office Summit India 2013, being organized in

association with Quant Capital Advisors – a forum for showcasing excellence in the Family Office & Private Client industry.

Association of International Wealth Management of India (AIWMI) primarily focuses on broader and strategic role of developing a more robust and forward-looking training infrastructure for private banking and wealth management sector and to promote more active industry involvement and collaboration in training and continuing education matters.

Besides enhancing technical competencies and professionalism in the industry, AIWMI organizes events and facilitates discussions to promote best practices in leadership and talent development in the financial sector with an aim to become Asia’s premier centre of excellence for Wealth Management education.

Our inaugural Family Office Summit India 2013 aims to provide

an introduction to the current status and development potential of the Indian Family Office market.

India is home to as many as 7730 ultra-high net worth individuals and families whose combined wealth amounts to a whopping $925 bn. As this population of wealthy people has benefitted from tremendous growth rates in the last few years, mainly driven by thriving economy and booming stock market, and as it is expected to grow at the same pace for the next few years, India has become a promising market for Family Office solutions.

This has been a cornerstone for our belief that the time is now apt to start an annual dialogue on the future of this premier echelon of wealth management – Family Office.

Speaker ProfilesAjay is the founder and Chief Mentor for Copal Art. An entrepreneurial spirit has been the hallmark and driving force behind Mr. Seth’s 38 year career. Prior to founding Copal Art in 2006, Mr. Seth was the CEO and Managing Director of Lovett & Virginia focused on diversified personal care products. With a historical background in accounting and audit, Mr. Seth spent time at Godrej, DCM Group and Haryana Breweries. Bindu worked with ICICI Bank in the microfinance practice between 2001 and 2005 and was head of the new product development group within the bank’s rural finance business in 2007. Bindu has an undergraduate degree in Economics from Madras University and master’s degrees from the Institute of Rural Management, Anand (IRMA) and Harvard University’s Kennedy School. Mark Nelligan is Pershing’s senior business representative in Asia Pacific, based in Singapore, responsible for relationship management and business development in the region. He is a member of BNY Mellon’s Asia Pacific Executive Committee and is CEO of Pershing Securities Singapore Pte Ltd which holds a capital markets licence to service Singapore financial intermediaries. He has nearly 20 years of financial services experience. Mark joined Pershing in October 2002 from ING Barings, Singapore where he was the Chief Operating Officer with responsibility for the bank’s commercial and investment banking operational support platform in South East Asia, Vietnam and India. Prior to this, he held several senior operational roles in Hong Kong, India and London. Mukesh leads the CRISIL research business and is responsible for providing a strategic direction to industry research, equity research, funds and fixed income research. Mukesh joined CRISIL in 1995. Under his leadership, CRISIL Research business has strengthened its positioning amongst its clients that includes 90% of India’s commercial banks. Rajesh started his career in 1995 – spent about 6 years in Equity Research in India. His last tenure was with UTI-Nomura Securities in Mumbai after which he shifted to Bahrain in 2000. He spent about 6 years outside India managing proprietary money of bank treasuries. He also successfully set up and managed a desk that focused on co-investment opportunities across global asset classes along with Institutional and family office clients of these banks. Rajesh worked with TAIB Bank EC as Deputy Director for about 3 years and then as Fund Manager with National Bank of Bahrain for about 3 years till June 2006 when he relocated back to India. Since 2006 he is with Kotak Bank heading our Wealth SBU’s Investments desk. On December 2012 he has also taken up additional responsibility of Family Office. Rajesh is a Chartered and Cost Accountant from India with a CFA and FRM degree from the US.
