The vision for the unit Family Readiness Group is to produce Family Readiness Groups that are engaged inproduce Family Readiness Groups that are engaged in their unit’s yearly activities, resulting in strong “Ready

Military Families”.

Successful FRGs“R d F ili A ti A h !” i h k f• “Ready Families…Anytime, Anywhere!” is the key focus of the FRG. – A successful FRG boosts the morale of its SoldiersA successful FRG boosts the morale of its Soldiers

and their Families by allowing Families to connect with one another in mutual support. This support allows Soldiers to feel secure in the readiness of theirallows Soldiers to feel secure in the readiness of their Family.

• Family in terms of Family readiness is not “just” the y y jFamily within your household. – We know that your closest support could be your

t t l ibli f i d dparents, aunts, uncles, siblings, friends and many more. This Family is an integral part of the FRG. The more Families active in the FRG the larger this support system grows.

What makes an FRG run?

• The FRG is run solely by volunteers; in conjunction with the Commander and the Military Liaisonthe Commander and the Military Liaison.

• Passionate Volunteers• The goal of an FRG volunteer is to create a community g y

of camaraderie within the military “Family”. – To some Family members this will be the only support

system they have; if and when a deploymentsystem they have; if and when a deployment happens. Welcoming new family members and helping them integrate into military life is an important focus of the FRG.
