Greetings! I am JanieGamez, the newlyappointed leader of theFamily Readiness Group(FRG) of United StatesAfrica Command. It is myprivilege to have theopportunity to lead theFRG throughout the nextyear. The amazingaccomplishments over the past year have beennothing but spectacular,none of which could havebeen achieved withoutthe great volunteers and
members of theAFRICOM FRG. Mydesires as the new leader are to continue thesuccess of the FRG by
helping families andmembers of AFRICOMprepare for deployments,helping new familiesadjust to military living inEurope, and continuingthe communicationdialogue betweenmembers and thegarrison to maintain thehigh quality of life in theStuttgart area. I lookforward to working witheach and every one of you in the coming year.As the FRG, we are the
initial impression of AFRICOM that familymembers make about our Command and thesustained and lasting

**Volunteer Coordinator:
Purpose: Recruit and organize volunteers for FRG events.
Job Descriptions: Recruits volunteers for all FRG events. Will provideschedules with times, locations and jobs needed for an event. Turn involunteer hours monthly to FRG Organization Point Of Contact from eachevents.
**Fundraising Coordinator:
Purpose: manages all FRG fundraising activities, including coordination, permission, and recruiting.
Job Descriptions: Coordinates with FRG leader and special events coordinator on upcoming events and financial needsCoordinates with commander or first sergeant on training schedule and open times for fundraisers. Canvasses membershipabout types of fundraisers desired. Coordinates with commander about proposed fundraiser (s). Prepares fundraiser permis-
sion letter and delivers to FRG leader. Works with publicity and phone tree chairpersons to get the word out about upcomingfundraiser. Complies with Army regulations and post rules. Works with fundraiser committee to plan the fundraiser. Recruits
volunteers and delegates to work. Supervises the fundraiser on the appointed day. Safeguards funds and turns them over tothe treasurer or alternate as soon as practicable. Reports fundraiser results to FRG leader an membership. Ten hours per month
**Secretary:
Purpose: Maintains accurate minutes of meetings and distributes information and correspondence to the FRG leader andnewsletter editor.
Job Descriptions: Maintains a FRG binder with a calendar, to do list, current Chain of Concern roster, sign-in sheets, agen-das and minutes, and after-action reports Ensures confidentiality and acts in a sensitive Manner. Updates the contact roster with telephone numbers of new arrivals and reports changes to the FRG leader. 10 hours a month
