Most Reliable Fantasy Baseball Outfielders (1)
Remember the good old days when the top outfielders could be trusted for 40
homers and 120 RBI? Those days are gone and have been replaced by players who
combine speed with power. The list of most reliable fantasy baseball outfielders is a
minefield of potential and pitfalls. There are no sure things after the top three.
1. Ryan Braun, Milwaukee Brewers The most complete of the outfielders ledthem all with 113 runs.
2. Matt Kemp, Los Angeles Dodgers Kemp is only 25 and his continuedimprovement makes him a legitimate threat for the top perch.
3. Matt Holliday, St. Louis Cardinals Just a notch below the top in allcategories.
4. Carl Crawford, Tampa Bay Rays Established a career-high in steals with 60,while boosting his batting average 32 points from the previous year.
5. Jacoby Ellsbury, Boston Red Sox Moving from center to left field shouldntaffect his production.
6. Grady Sizemore, Cleveland Indians Looking to bounce back from an injury-
marred 2009.
7. Justin Upton, Arizona Diamondbacks Still just 22, he hit .300 and was a 20-
20 man.
8. Jason Bay, New York Mets Led the majors in RBI with 119. A new home will
probably see a drop in that number but otherwise hell be his usual solid self.
9. Jayson Werth, Philadelphia Phillies In his first season as a regular he slugged
.506 with 99 RBI.
10.Adam Lind, Toronto Blue Jays In his first full season, Lind led all outfielders
in slugging percentage at .562.
11.Curtis Granderson, New York Yankees The move to New York should lead to
a serious boost in his runs scored total (91). If he hit for a higher average he
would be among the most reliable fantasy baseball outfielders.
12.Andre Ethier, Los Angeles Dodgers Set career marks in every category
except for average.
13.Nick Markakis, Baltimore Orioles He was second among outfielders in
doubles (45) while driving in 101.
14.Ichiro Suzuki, Seattle Mariners Kept up his incredible pace last year except
for runs scored with dropped to 88 from 103 in 2008.

15.Shin-Soo Choo, Cleveland Indians Choo hit .300 and stole 21 bases while
getting caught just twice.
16.Carlos Lee, Houston Astros Went .300/26/102 but scored only 65 runs.
17.B.J. Upton, Tampa Bay Rays Speedier than his younger brother, hes
averaged 36 steals over the last three seasons.
18.Adam Dunn, Washington Senators Doesnt do much besides hit homers.
Hes had at least 38 for seven straight years.
19.Bobby Abreu, Los Angeles Angels Shook off an early-season slump to drive
in 103 and steal 30.
20.Shane Victorino, Philadelphia Phillies The speedy centerfielder has scored
102 runs two years in a row.
21.Adam Jones, Baltimore Orioles At 24, Jones is poised to score 100 if he stayshealthy.
22.Nelson Cruz, Texas Rangers Homered 33 times and stole 20, but has never
played in more than 128 games.
23.Torii Hunter, Los Angeles Angels Missed over 40 games but still went 22/90
with 18 steals.
24.Josh Hamilton, Texas Rangers Can he return to his 2008 form or was that an
aberration?
25.Jason Kubel, Minnesota Twins Quietly drove home 103 while hitting .300.
Sleepers: Manny Ramirez and Alfonso Soriano will be available late for brave
owners. A safer selection for the most reliable fantasy baseball outfielder would be
the Twins Denard Spann.
