General1. Question: It’s been almost two years since Logitech acquired LifeSize – why has it taken so long to come up with

a joint product offering?

Answer: Breakthrough innovations take time. Approximately 1.5 years is actually a very fast pace to integrate the largest acquisition in Logitech’s history and to bring to market two such unique offerings as LifeSize Connections and LifeSize Passport Connect. These offerings leverage decades of engineering effort within Logitech collectively that would be very difficult to replicate.

2. Question: Is this the first of many joint products? What’s next?

Answer: Our joint priority is driving ubiquitous video communication. If more opportunities arise to collaborate and drive video adoption, we certainly will. As of right now, we don’t have any specific products to announce beyond LifeSize Connections and LifeSize Passport Connect, but we’ll be in touch when we do.

3. Question: When will Passport Connect be available?

Answer: Passport Connect will be available later in Q3.

4. Question: What comes with Passport Connect?

Answer: Passport Connect comes with the codec, Logitech® HD camera, remote and cables.

Sales and Channel1. Question: Why is there a tiered pricing structure?

Answer: $999 is a promotion price for Passport Connect when purchased with a one-year subscription to LifeSize Connections.

2. Question: How is LifeSize able to make a product that’s priced so significantly lower than anything else on the market? Is the price reflective of the quality?

Answer: Through innovative design and superior manufacturing and operational capabilities, we are able to drive down the price of immersive HD communications. When we introduced the original LifeSize Passport HD video endpoint at $2,499 it was unrivaled in price performance and it remains the price performance leader. Now, with Passport Connect, LifeSize is delivering a solution that will enable organizations to equip anyone, anywhere in the world, with HD video communications.

3. Question: What is the pricing on Passport Connect versus other 220 series endpoints when used with Connections?

Answer: Passport Connect is available for a promotional price of $999 when purchased with a one-year subscription to LifeSize Connections. It is available for $1,499 when purchased as a stand-alone endpoint. There is currently no promotional pricing when purchasing a 220 series endpoint in conjunction with LifeSize Connections.

Product1. Question: How does Passport Connect differ from Passport?

Answer: Passport Connect was purposefully optimized for use with cloud-based solutions like LifeSize Connections. The UI has name-based dialing instead of lengthy IP-string dialing for easier calling to contacts in the cloud. The solution is offered with a Logitech HD camera and at compelling price points to encourage the broad deployment of video systems in any size room. The full-featured LifeSize Passport, much like all other LifeSize endpoints, is designed for traditional IP-based video calling.

2. Question: Is the Passport Connect UI different from the Passport UI?

Answer: Yes, the Passport Connect UI has been optimized for cloud-based solutions and is designed with simple name-based dialing, presence icons and search functionality.

3. Question: Can current Passports be modified to become Passport Connects?

Answer: No, current Passports cannot be modified to become Passport Connects.

4. Question: How plug-and-play is Passport Connect, really?

Answer: With LifeSize Connections it’s very simple. An administrator receives Passport Connect and enters the serial number from the box into the web portal to enable LifeSize Connections on Passport Connect. The user powers the system, connects to the Internet, and follows an initial first-time-use screen to enable Connections. Passport Connect auto-provisions and the corporate directory is automatically downloaded. The user is now ready to place HD video calls.

5. Question: Will the system work with other Logitech cameras?

Answer: Passport Connect has been designed to work only with the bundled Logitech HD camera. This camera has been optimized for conference rooms and office lighting conditions in order to provide the highest quality video conferencing experience.

6. Question: Is the Logitech camera that is paired with LifeSize Passport Connect the B910/C910 camera? If I lose the camera for whatever reason, can I just replace it with another B910/C910 camera?

Answer: The Logitech camera used in this product is specifically optimized for LifeSize Passport Connect. It is the only camera that is supported. If you should lose the camera, please contact LifeSize support.

7. Question: What makes this a cloud product?

Answer: When registered to LifeSize Connections, Passport Connect makes multi-party calls without any on-premise equipment and automates functions such as firewall traversal and provisioning. Also, with presence and name-based dialing, it’s simple to connect to your contacts over video. Passport Connect offers a simplified experience that users come to expect with cloud-based solutions.

8. Question: Does Passport Connect only work with LifeSize Connections?

Answer: No, Passport Connect is interoperable with any SIP-based endpoint and also supports leading UC environments including Microsoft OCS/Lync, Avaya, Alcatel, ShoreTel and Siemens.

9. Question: Is Passport Connect the only endpoint that connects to Connections?

Answer: No, LifeSize Passport, LG Executive and all of our 220 series endpoints will also be interoperable with LifeSize® Connections™.

10. Question: Does Passport Connect work with your competitors’ equipment?

Answer: Yes, it’s SIP-based and interoperable with other standards-based endpoints.

11. Question: How secure is Passport Connect? Can it be used for sensitive conversations?

Answer: Passport Connect supports SIP encryption and can be used in situations where security is required.

12. Question: How is Passport Connect compatible with UC-based solutions like Lync, Avaya or Siemens?

Answer: Passport Connect is a SIP-based endpoint which is the protocol that leading UC-solutions also use. When deployed in a UC-environment, Passport Connect can have corporate directories provisioned to it and a user can place video calls to any contact by simply selecting a name.

13. Question: Can Passport Connect be used with Lync independently of LifeSize Connections?

Answer: Yes. Passport Connect is fully interoperable with Microsoft OCS 2007 R2 and Lync.

14. Question: How is Passport Connect interoperable with Lync? Is the same as a 220 endpoint?

Answer: Yes, Microsoft Lync interoperability works the same as LifeSize 220 endpoints.

15. Question: Does Passport Connect support Skype?

Answer: No, at this time Passport Connect does not support Skype, but it is supported on LifeSize Passport.
