Protein Smoothie Recipes

Tips on Shakes• If you want a thick shake, use more ice and less liquid. If you want a thin

shake, add water to your binding liquid. See the Snack Builder sheet on the website for the smoothie breakdown.

• Sticking to a low-sugar fruit in your shake is ideal for weight loss (berries or ½ a sour apple).

• A good high-speed blender is KEY. If you want the right consistency and to pulverize the added veggies or ice, you’ll need to blend for at least 60 seconds.

• A shaker cup may be used for a quick basic shake with no add-ins.• DO NOT use cow’s milk in any form, instead use almond milk, rice milk, or

coconut milk.• *If you have not supplemented with fiber before, start by using 1/4 what the

recipes calls for and build up by 1/4 scoop each week. Gradually allow your system to get used to the added fiber. If you feel extra gas or bloated, reduce your fiber by 1/8 and only build once the gas or bloat has improved. After improvement, you can try to increase again by only 1/8 scoop per week.

Cut the cucumber and apple in chunks. Place the cucumber, apple and berries in a blender and process until smooth. Chop the greens and ginger and add to the blender along with the juice of half a lemon and process until smooth. Add the protein powder & an avocado and process until well blended.
