Father Charles’s Corner …
For two months now, we have been trying to think about how to restart the Parish School of Religion (PSR) for the fall. Without doubt we would love to be able to have in-person instruction so that our youth may continue to be connected to the Church and each other, as they learn more deeply of God’s love for them, the history of salvation, and what it means to be a Catholic Christian living in the world.
While we all desire to get back to our “normal lives,” we must be cognizant of the reality of COVID-19 in the world today. This reality calls us to respond in faith, but as Catholics we have a faith that is informed by reason. And for now, that means out of an abundance of caution for the health and safety of our students in the PSR and our volunteer catechists, we will have online PSR classes for at least the Fall Semester of this Academic Year.
We are finalizing the arrangements with the delivery platform, and very soon we will be having registration for PSR. Parents/guardians will have a login for their children, and children will be able to receive PSR lessons on their own pace. These lessons will include some direct instructional videos, but also will include short movies and theatrical presentations of aspects of our faith. The online PSR will not require more than our traditional in-class and home projects required in the past.
Parents can expect more information in the coming week and we hope to have registration very soon.
Similarly, our RCIA program will have a hybrid of a few in-person meetings, Zoom meetings, and online instructions. NOW, more than ever, is a time that we need Jesus Christ in our lives. If you, a member of your family, a friend, or a coworker are not Catholic and desire to become a member of the Church, please contact Eric Johnsen at [email protected]. We will have more information about RCIA in the upcoming weeks, but now is the time to start praying that God will lead you (or your family member) to full membership in the Catholic Church. Our Lord so desires for you to be with Him, and us as a Church! Now is the appointed time to listen to that tiny whispering sound.
May all of the graces the Lord is wanting for you, as Heaven overflows in its great abundance into our lives, be with you throughout this week and always. May you be aware of them, and cooperate with our Lord Jesus Christ!

Continued Phase II Reopening
Governor Edwards has announced that we will continue to stay at Phase II Reopening until at least August 7th. Accordingly, will continue to have sign-up for weekend Masses with the current restrictions we have in place. Masks are also required for anyone over the age of 8 attending Mass. Parents of children between the ages of 2 and 7 are strongly encouraged to have their children wear a mask at Mass
Since we are still unable to use our Reconciliation Room (Confessional), Fr. Charles is using the sacristy for confessions. Because of the need to sanitize the church between the 2 p.m. and 5:30 vigil Masses, and the need to enter the sacristy before Mass, we are still unable to offer Confessions on Saturdays. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is available on Wednesdays from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., and Fr. Charles can also make individual appointments for anyone who wishes to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Please call the office or email him for an appointment.
MASS INTENTIONS

After November 1st, all intentions will be accepted until the schedule is full. Mass requests will be honored on a first-come, first-serve basis in the office. No Mass request will be taken over the telephone. Mass requests must be made in person in the parish office, mailed to the office, or put into an enveloped and placed in the collection. Forms for requesting a Mass can be obtained from the parish office, in the back of the church, or online on the parish website. We still have many days available in 2020. People may request unlimited intentions for the remaining days in 2020. The stipend for a Mass is $5.
