Feast of St. Polycarp– Martyr Polycarp occupies an important place in the history of
the early Christian Church. He is among the earliest
Christians whose writings survived. Jerome wrote that
Polycarp was a "disciple of the apostle John and by
him ordained bishop of Smyrna". He was an elder of
an important congregation that was a large contribu-
tor to the founding of the Christian Church.

SVDP: January 26th 2020
In this Sunday’s Gospel, we
find that Jesus “… went
around all of Galilee, teach-
ing in their synagogues, pro-
claiming the gospel of the
kingdom, and curing every disease and illness
among the people.”
Thanks to your prayers and financial gifts,
the Society of St. Vincent de Paul is able pro-
claim the good news of the kingdom to the poor,
by assisting families and individuals suffering the
effects of poverty in our community. We welcome
new members to learn about opportunities to
grow spiritually through person-to-person service
to those in need. Please call 833-1269 or visit
our website svdpminot.org to learn more. Have you considered joining the Society of St. Vin-
cent de Paul so that you can live your Baptism more fully?

VOCATION VIEWS: Seek to follow Jesus, the humble servant. You will
be blessed! Discover the grace of the gospel.
(Zephaniah 2:3, 3:12-13 & Matthew 5:1-12)
STEWARDSHIP THOUGHTS The watchword today is “immediately.” Peter and
Andrew, James and John all respond immediately
to the call of Christ. May I be as open to God’s call
and as ready to use my talents in His service as
those first disciples were!
• Stewardship Thought: Stewardship involves a
change of heart, embodied not just in a single ac-
tion, nor even a series of actions, but in one’s en-
tire life
WORD OF LIFE May all who suffer from
participating in abortion
turn to God’s loving for-
giveness; We pray to the
Lord: Abortion affects
countless marriages, more
than many people recog-
nize. But God’s grace can
bring true healing in rela-
tionships. Learn more at
