S tuart Chafetz is a conductor with a dynamic podium demeanor and a refi ned sense of audience engagement. Increasingly in demand with orchestras across the continent, this season Chafetz will be on the podium in Washington (National Symphony Orchestra),

Naples, Phoenix, Seattle, Atlanta, Milwaukee, Vancouver, Raleigh Durham (North Carolina Symphony) and others.

Previous conducting appearances include the orchestras of Buff alo, San Francisco, Chicago, Toronto, Cincinnati, Calgary, Edmonton, Florida, Indianapolis, Baltimore, Jacksonville, Kansas City, Louisiana, Naples, New Mexico, San Francisco Ballet and Virginia.

He’s had the privilege to work with renowned artists such as Chris Botti, Roberta Flack, George Benson, Richard Chamberlain, The Chieftains, Jennifer Holliday, John Denver, Marvin Hamlisch, Thomas Hampson, Wynonna Judd, Jim Nabors, Randy Newman, Jon Kimura Parker and Bernadette Peters.

He previously held posts as resident conductor of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and associate conductor of the Louisville Orchestra. As principal timpanist of the Honolulu Symphony for 20 years, Chafetz would also conduct the annual Nutcracker performances with Ballet Hawaii and principals from the American Ballet Theatre. It was during that time that Chafetz led numerous concerts with the Maui Symphony and Pops.

In the summers, Chafetz spends his time at the Chautauqua Institution, where he conducts the annual Fourth of July and Opera Pops concerts with the Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra in addition to his role as that orchestra’s timpanist.

When not on the podium, Chafetz makes his home near San Francisco with his wife, Ann Krinitsky. Chafetz holds a bachelor’s degree in music performance from the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati and a master’s from the Eastman School of Music.

M ichael Bolton is a multiple Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter and social activist, who has sold more than 60 million records worldwide. Bolton remains committed to humanitarian causes, especially through the Michael Bolton Charities,

now in its 22nd year.

For his dedication to social activism, Bolton has been honored with several humanitarian awards, including the Martin Luther King Award granted by the Congress of Racial Equality, the Lewis Hine Award from The National Child Labor Committee, the Muhammed Ali Humanitarian Award, the Ellis Island Medal of Honor from the National Ethnic Coalition of Organizations and the Frances Preston Lifetime Achievement Award.

In recognition of his artistic achievements, Bolton won two Grammys for Best Pop Male Vocal Performance (nominated four times), six American Music Awards and a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. As a songwriter, he has earned 24 BMI and ASCAP Awards, including Songwriter of the Year, nine Million-Air awards and the Hitmakers Award from the Songwriters Hall of Fame. To date, Bolton has seen eight studio albums rank in the Top 10, with nine No. 1 singles.

Bolton has written with some of the greatest and most diverse talent of our time, including Bob Dylan, Paul Stanley, Lady Gaga, Diane Warren and David Foster. Bolton's songs have been recorded by the likes of KISS, Kanye West, Jay Z, Barbra Streisand, Cher and Marc Anthony.

Bolton’s songs and performances have been featured in numerous television and fi lm soundtracks, including the Oscar-nominated theme song “Go the Distance” from Walt Disney’s blockbuster animated fi lm Hercules and the forthcoming Russell Crowe fi lm Fathers & Daughters. He also executive produced the documentary Terror at Home addressing domestic violence in America, and was Emmy-nominated for writing the title song, “Tears of the Angels.” Bolton is currently completing a feature-length documentary, Gotta Keep Dreamin, about the 21st-century renaissance of Detroit.

Continuing to tour the world each year, Bolton has performed with legacies such as Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo, Jose Carreras, Renée Fleming and BB King.

Bolton became a viral sensation in The Lonely Island’s Emmy-nominated video, “Captain Jack Sparrow” that launched on Saturday Night Live and has racked up over 150 million views on YouTube. Bolton continued his comedic appearances in several episodes of CBS’s hit series Two and a Half Men as well as the hit Fox network show Glee, HBO’s hit series Last Week Tonight with John Oliver and the ABC series Repeat After Me, executive produced by Ellen DeGeneres. He has also been featured in TV campaigns for Pizza Hut, Honda, Starburst, FiberOne and Optimum and has ongoing campaigns with American Greetings.
