Dear Speaker Ryan, Majority Leader McConnell, Minority Leaders Reid and Pelosi,

We are 4,757 physicians at hospitals across America and we write to underscore the importance

of the 340B drug pricing program to our patients and communities. The program helps us care

for our patients, regardless of their ability to pay.

Since we work at safety-net hospitals, we see a disproportionate case load of poorer and sicker

patients than other providers. These individuals often have nowhere else to turn for medical help.

Savings from the 340B program allows us to provide free and reduced-cost medications to the

underserved. It also makes it possible for us to fund neighborhood clinics and provide

personalized service and quality clinical support to our patients.

The 340B program helps us take better care of our patients every day. Limiting or shrinking it

would negatively impact our ability to care for the needy in our communities.
