Thank you God for everything.

By Co-Bishop Sharon Polk

As we should always be in the season of thanks and I look back at my life the ups and the downs that we all have traveled. The only thing I can say is thank you God! For, he has done what he said in Matt. 28:20 “I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.”

In the sickness that I have gone through God was there. When I wanted to get married God choose my husband for me. In my child barring years He did not leave me. When my parents went to be with Him God remained present in my life. God is always faithful to his word!

Many times we have tendency to tell everyone around us thank you, however we forget to tell the one that we should truly be thankful for. He is the one who woke us up this morning, put breath in to our lungs, and allows us to move throughout the day. He also provides us with means to put shelter over our head, electricity in our homes and food on our tables. He’s name is JESUS!

The scriptures tell us, in all things to give thanks. So I will like to take time to tell GOD, THANK YOU!

My Introduction: Dear Friends, As we near another time for sharing, caring, giving and thanksgiving, many people are going through stresses of financial strain, sicknesses, strife and confusion. God is not the author of confusion and He always meets our needs. Our worried hearts and sleepless nights wondering how the bills will get paid, how sick family and friends will be healed and how decisions will be made are what Satan wants us to do. This is because then, we are not trusting in the promises God has for us. When you think back at the blessings God has given you, we must praise Him and be thankful. When we think of how He never has failed us, we must praise Him and be thankful. When we didn’t understand why a prayer wasn’t answered but eventually found out His purpose, we must praise Him and be thankful. When we have food on our table, loved ones surrounding us and hope for tomorrow, we praise Him and are thankful. When we feel like there seems like there is no end to our sufferings and hardships, WE PRAISE HIM AND BE THANKFUL! GOD HAS YOUR BACK! He is our provider, our healer, our counselor, our representation – He is EVERYTHING and HE IS OUR VICTOR. He has won this battle! He has won the past battles, the current and future ones. He is ALWAYS granting us grace and favor so in a time of Satan’s lies running rampant in society, we must remember that GOD IS ALL WE NEED and WE PRAISE HIM AND THANK HIM! Let us bow our heads in prayer, supplication, praising Him and thanking Him for meeting all of our needs and being the victory in our battles! Thank you, Father God, for all you has done and I praise you and thank You for each and every person reading this today!

May peace and blessings be yours, Paula *If you have a prayer request, please email it to [email protected]. All prayer requests are kept confidential. Be Blessed! PRAY FOR ALL MINISTRY Verse Thought and Prayer Graciously Unworried Written by Paula Hunter 10302011 TODAY'S VERSES Philippians 4:6 “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” Matthew 6:33-34 "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:27 "Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?" THOUGHTS ON TODAY'S VERSE: It seems to be a running theme for humanity. Even for Christians. We all do it or have done it. Worry. We are worried about finances, worried about a family member, about relationships, loneliness, worried about our own transgressions, worried about the economy, worried how to make it through….so much to worry about, right? Well, the Bible is full of verses on worry. If you stay connected to the Word, you can cite so many verses which teach us that worry is a temptation and sin and why. If you reflect on Matthew 6:33, “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well”, God’s instruction is to seek HIM first. If we follow the Word and are obeying God, we should be lifting everything up to Him. That means every worried thought we have is just a temptation from the devil to trip us up and try to make us believe that God isn’t powerful enough to take care of whatever troubles are afflicting you. The devil is a liar and if we believe him, then we are acting on the worry and sinning because we are not believing that God can do anything and seeking Him. We are to be anxious for nothing! Think back about a time that you were in the fire and God brought you out at the perfect time. God is always on time and if you believe that He is the Most High King of Kings and Lord of Lords, then you have nothing to worry about. You will always have food on your table, clothes on your back and shelter. Your transgressors will be handled because God protects His children and will not forsake them. So the next time a worried thought comes your way, do not be anxious, seek first His kingdom and righteousness and give it to God. You will feel a calm and peace that is like nothing else of this world. I am a living testimony to this. I had those days of worry and it is a terrible feeling. God never wants us to feel confused, uneasy or afraid of anything of this world! When I have lifted it up to Him, the peace that overcame me was the most beautiful feeling and I thanked Him for that grace and those blessings. When we give it to Him, we have to trust Him and never take the worry or problem back! Make a promise that when the temptation of worry crosses your mind to always pray with thanksgiving, seek the Lord, lift your requests unto Him, find refuge in your Father God and become graciously unworried! PRAYER FOR TODAY: My God and King of Kings and Lord of Lords, as I come to you in prayer, I lift up to you thanksgiving for your grace and being the Creator of all things! I am seeking your kingdom, Dear God, and I sometimes worry about things unnecessarily. I ask you to lift all the burdens of my heart from me right here and right now! I lift these requests to you as I believe and trust that you can do anything and I trust that you will always take care of me and my family. If for one moment a worry crosses my mind, give me the strength to remove that thought and lift it up to you unconditionally at all times. Holy Spirit, fill my heart with

the peace and comfort that my Father represents as my refuge and my protector. I will be a witness and testimony to others that when I obey God, stay connected to Him in prayer and in His Word, there is nothing to worry about because God always prevails! There is nothing like the comfort and peace that God’s grace provides when I walk with Him daily. Thank you, Father God for being all that you are. Thank You right now for the fires You have brought me out of before, the rain that is coming to put out the fires I am in now and for the sunshine at the end of the rain. I lift this up to you with thanksgiving, peace and the feeling of being graciously unworried in my Savior Jesus Christ, Your Son's Holy Name. Amen.

Charles Hidgs

“Thank You GOD for Grandparents”

Every day I take my Grandchildren’s to school, J.B. Atkentins. I notice a man who

is very faithful, with bringing his grandchild to school. This man walks from the

end of the parking lot with his walker to the school, and I see the joy in his face

that he is thankful that he is able to share this time with his grandchild. I would

have said not only does he love his grandchild, but he loves people in general; for

he helps other kids and the neighborhood to get to school, and work.

In younger years, he served his country in the military and he has

continued to do so, by serving his community. You can see the joy in his face to

have another day with his family. I will like to take the time out to thank Charles

Hidgs. Thank You for your Services!

Author Louisville is full of authors some of them have their books on the book shelves in

stores and some have them at home. But where ever there books are place, their work is priceless! Just like a young lady who works hard for the elderly, who is the manager of the Mt. Lebanon Cedars Senior Citizen Home; Located on West Madison Street.

She has written a book of Poems called; “Sisterly Yours” (Volume 1) and a book that is based on a Black Princess in Africa called; “Princess Mandisa”. Her named is Wanda Hoosier! Even though she has try many times to get her books place in the reach of our children’s here in Louisville, with doors been closed to her, she still remains with an uplifted spirit. I would like to encouraged every black family in Louisville to get a copy of her books.(

Princess Mandisa is a book that will help us as an culture not to lose the heritage that we had in our native country, were we were kings and queens.)

Not only is she an author but she is an instrument in Louisville for the betterment of our Community. She served as the president of the West end Neighborhood Cemetery who was instrumental in getting the Greenwood Cemetery cleaned up by making sure that the

grass was cut and that 92 headstone were place on the proper remains for those who served our country. I would like to say to her, thank you for your dedication and hard work for the community and for our heritage.

Be sure to get this book. You can call 502-379-3262.

Supplies Store” this store is located off 20th and Chestnut. While visiting this particular store, I was able to interview the owner his name is Mr. Mosley He has been in this location for nearly thirty years and he said that this is a ministry to him to bring a place for the black community to have Biblical Books right in our back yard.

So how did Mr. Mosley get in to this work? In his younger years a friend from Africa asked him if he would help and send some clothes than later he asked him if he would send some Bibles. So he contacted the Thomason Chance Bible Company to see if they had any book they were not going to use they wrote him back and let him know what the cost would be. He got the books and those who received them were so happy that the others around them wanted a Bible too, so his friend asked for more. As the company could see that he was buying these Bible they asked him to be a sale person for them. He after some time said o.k. and one of his family members had a Barbers shop with a little room to the side and let him open up a store. As time when on God open the door for him to buythe store where he is located today. You will fine books to read for adults and children.
