Hello Everyone,

I want to thank all of you that took advantage of our large inventory and purchased a vehicle from us. The

good news is the Hyundai new car inventory is growing and we now have the largest inventory we have had

over the past year. Other good news is we delivered 129 vehicles in December. We delivered over 50 differ-

ent makes and models to customers in over 32 different zip codes, and 4 different states, with Mississippi tak-

ing the long distance honors this month. Another great thing to see is 52 of our vehicles were Hyundai’s and

we also delivered just over half of our total vehicles in Sheboygan County. Helping local customers get their

dream car is something we take very seriously.

QUESTION OF THE MONTH

Mike, I’ve been reading your articles over the past year, and by the way I love them. My

questions are; how were Hyundai sales across the United States in 2011? Could you

give a breakdown of some of the most popular models, and what does Hyundai have

going or planning for 2012?

Thank you and by the way great questions. I think everyone should be interested in these answers. You will

also be happy to know that Hyundai is a company that has made outstanding strides over the past decade.

More recently Hyundai has achieved many awards and accolades from everyone that counts: consumers like

yourself, and the critics judging Hyundai against every other manufacture in the country.

The Hyundai Elantra has just been voted North American Car of the Year. Please read the article on the

front page of this newsletter to hear more about that.

You ,the consumers, have voted and the Hyundai product was just voted #1 in Customer Retention according

to JD Powers and Associates.

Wow, if a company did nothing else but won both of those over the lifetime of the manufacture they would

certainly go down in history as being a success. Now think about this. Hyundai did BOTH in the same year.

So how many Hyundai’s were sold last year?

The answer is 645,691 up 20% from last year. Most manufactures would be satisfied to reach a 1% market

share for new cars sold in the United States. Hyundai however holds a 5.1% market share and that is a lot of

new Hyundai vehicles on the road. Other great news is 420,000 of those vehicle were built right here in the

United States. That’s keeping a lot of people employed on the home land.

Of those great numbers you will also be happy to hear that Hyundai achieved an industry leading 36.1 miles

per gallon CAFÉ rating. What that means is Hyundai vehicles across all models achieved better gas mileage

than any other manufacture vehicles.

As for individual sales, the Hyundai Sonata was the sales leader with over 226,000 new Hyundai cars delivered.

To understand what this means please keep in mind that there are only five models sold in the entire industry that

achieve over 200,000 sales in a calendar year. That really is more proof that the Hyundai line up is a top seller and

they really do have something for everyone.

Lastly what’s coming up for this year?

First this is the IQS rating period. This is a rating system that measures how satisfied buyers are over the first 90

days of ownership. Hyundai is very aware of this prestigious award and has their eyes set on the number one posi-

tion.

Soon you will see a totally redesigned Azera, and this one will take your breath away. Designed for the person

wanting more room than a Sonata, a V-6 engine, and to have all of the great features you would expect in a luxury

car.

Then we have a new Santa Fe coming. This will be a totally redesigned 2013 model and will arrive in August or

September of this year. This Santa Fe is going to also be a show stopper. It’s said to have all of the extras you’ve

come to expect from Hyundai and a few other bells and whistles.

Van Horn and Hyundai really are the dealership and manufacture that covers you for everything you need. I hope

Although you might think it’s easier on your car to let it sit and gently warm up,

doing so is a bad idea for a number of reasons.

Most importantly, it does indeed waste gas. The vast majority of cars and trucks on the road today use

electronic fuel injection. When your vehicle’s engine is cold, the computer tells the fuel injectors to stay

open longer. This allows more fuel into the engine to help it run cold. As the engine warms up the

injectors let in less fuel and everything returns to normal. The problem is that letting your vehicle sit

and idle is the slowest way to bring it up to operating temperature because it’s generally sitting in

your driveway at just above idle speed.

And this method to warm up also invites other problems. Carbon monoxide poison, catalytic converter

failure, and vehicle theft to name a few.

If it’s bitterly cold out you can let it warm up for a minute or two to allow the oil to thin out a bit and

circulate completely. But other than that if it runs then driving it gently is the best way to warm it up.

On a cold day here is my warm-up routine:

Start the car. Adjust the radio. Put on my seatbelt. Check the mirrors. Drive.

The important thing here is to drive “easy” for the first few miles. My guess is your parents probably

drive in this reasonable manner even after the car warms up. This is what helps contribute to their

car’s long life.

Also remember to NEVER warm up your car in your garage as the carbon monoxide can get into the

house and build up in the garage even if the garage door is open. Always pull the vehicle at least

halfway out if you have to let it run.

If you have to sit in your car while it is running for a long period of time it is recommended that you

crack the window to get a bit of fresh air in.

The only exception I’d add is this: If you are in a cold climate and your windows are frosted (especially

on the inside) it is a safety hazard. If you can’t see clearly then you can’t drive safely. In that case,

warm it up enough that your defroster starts working.

start for your vehicle.

HYUNDAI IS #1 IN CUSTOMER RETENTION ACCORDING TO

J.D. POWER AND ASSOCIATES

Hyundai is highest among all automotive brands in J.D. Power and Associates 2012

Customer Retention Study.

Now in its ninth year, the study measures the rate at which automotive brands retain

their existing customers and examines the reasons why customers remain loyal. Hyundai

earned the top spot in the study, improving its retention rate by four percentage points

from 2010 to 64 percent in 2012.

According to J.D. Power and Associates, Hyundai's increased retention rate is shaped by its expanding model

lineup, as well as the fact that perceptions of the brand's quality and appeal have continued to improve during

the past decade.

The 2012 Customer Retention Study is based on responses from 117,001 new-vehicle buyers and lessees, of

which 73,733 replaced a vehicle that was previously acquired new.

In addition to customer retention, the study also measures the rate at which each automotive brand captures

customers from its competitors, known as conquesting.

“We are proud that Hyundai owners show their brand loyalty by choosing to buy another Hyundai vehicle over

60 percent of the time,” said Dave Zuchowski, executive vice president, National Sales, Hyundai Motor

America. “Once they experience the styling, comfort and value of Hyundai vehicles, it’s no surprise that they

elect to stick with the Hyundai brand. We are thrilled that our vehicles and our dealers are earning the respect

and loyalty of our customers.”

Mix all ingredients together put in bread pan

and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.

Spread about ½ cup of smooth taco sauce and

sprinkle about ½ cup shredded taco cheese on

1lb Hamburger

½ lb Italian sausage

¼ cup chopped onion

1 egg

4.5 oz chopped Green chilies

1 package Taco season mix

¾ cup cracker crumbs
