This coming February 9-11 we will be hosting Bioscan. BioScan is an event hosted by the University of Saskatchewan's Biology Club every three years. This event is a collaboration of the Biology Department's staff and students to teach people of all ages about the importance of the biological sciences. We will be needing volunteers and would love your help! We are looking for 3 or 4 undergraduate students interested in working on the ecology of Bigmouth Buffalo, a fish species at risk in the Qu’Appelle River System. If you are interested, please email Dr. Maud Ferrari, and include a CV, your GPA, and a cover letter outlining which position would be interested in and why, and what you would hope to learn/achieve by joining the lab.

Ducks Unlimited Summer Students

Location: Prince Albert National Park, SK
Full-time (May 3 to August 24, 2018)
Prince Albert National Park, in central Saskatchewan, is looking for student field technicians this summer. Applicants must be registered in a post-secondary co-op course. Students will assist ecologists and resource conservation technicians with park research and wildlife/vegetation monitoring. Wildlife work will include monitoring songbirds using digital sound recording equipment, monitoring colonial birds, collecting water samples and flow rate information and other fieldwork as required. Apply with cover letter and resume through your University Co-op coordinator. Application deadline is February 14, 2018. Please indicate your citizenship.

Prince Albert National Park Field Technician

Ducks Unlimited is seeking energetic individuals for summer employment. Working with other staff to perform activities related to the establishment, management and maintenance of habitat programs. Responsibilities may include: general project maintenance activities, wetland project operation and maintenance, assisting staff with seeding and spraying activities, habitat assessment and site evaluation, and data entry and other computer work.
