Although we are in ordinary time, Sunday’s Gospel reading from Mark is far from ordinary. We

read this passage of Jesus healing fevers, casting out demons, and curing people left and right. Then,

as Jesus so often does, He slips away to pray to His Father. Eventually found by Simon, this powerful

line is uttered: “Everyone is looking for you.” Imagine there was a guy posting videos on Twitter or

YouTube of miraculous healings. Imagine this man cured people of their cancers and mental illness-

es. The whole world would be seeking him out, trying to be healed by Him. I could be making a stab

in the dark, but I believe that Simon’s phrase holds as much truth today as ever: “Everyone is looking

for you [Jesus].” We suffer from pain, depression, hurt and heartache and we seek to be healed. Our

hearts long for something no person or thing can fill and make new, except Jesus. As St. Augustine

said, “our hearts are restless until they rest in the You (the Lord).” Jesus continues to heal, day in

and day out. He pours His grace into our lives through the reception of the Eucharist or Reconcilia-

tion and through our prayer and when we serve the least. Let us be healed by Jesus from the things

that hold us back, and let us continue to pursue Him each and every day. May we open our hearts to

be cured of sin and darkness, so we can enter into the deep refreshing waters of new life that only

Christ can offer us.

St. Louis de Montfort, pray for us.

God Bless,

Reid Leazier

Are you or someone you know interested

in learning more about the Catholic faith

and possibly becoming Catholic? The

process through which we do this is called

the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults

(RCIA). RCIA sessions meet on Tuesdays,

at 7PM, in the Merton Room (in the lower

level of the church). Come enjoy a welcoming, no pressure

time of learning more about Jesus, your relationship with

him, and how He might be calling you to learn more about

the Catholic faith. Please contact Scott Merz

at [email protected] if you are interested in

learning more about RCIA.

Bible Study – Ephesians,

starts February 19

Paul’s letter to the Ephesians reveals many remarkable gifts that we as Christians are given in the Church. It shows us the great inheritance that awaits us as sons and daughters, adopted fully into the family of God. It reveals how God’s great love for us can transform our daily lives if we allow it. Ephesians will enrich your faith and show you how to live it out. Join us for an 8-week bible study on Mondays, 9-10:30AM or 7-8:30PM in the Merton Room (lower level of the church). The study incorporates DVDs led by Jeff Cavins, study questions and discussion. Cost is $10 for the study guide. Please register by contacting Sandy at [email protected] or ext 240.

Parish Council has

two open seats

coming available in

May 2018.

If you are interested in serving your parish as a

Parish Council member, please contact Fr. Pat, a Parish

Council member (names listed in the bulletin on page 10,)

or apply online at:

sldmfishers.formstack.com/forms/pc_application.

Deadline for applications is February 13, 2018.

There is now a collection

basket in the Narthex for

your old palms. They will be

burned and used for ashes

on Ash Wednesday.

We have added a prayer dimension to the 40th Anniver-

sary of the founding of our parish. If you would like to

have a candle lit for someone on the feast day of Saint

Louis de Montfort, each name will be prominently dis-

played in the Narthex and announced prior to the candle-

light vigil on the feast day. Let us join together as a Parish

in prayer that through the intercession of Saint Louis de

Montfort, all of our prayers will be heard and answered.

Feel free to write your prayer intention names (living or

deceased) on the candlelight vigil prayer envelopes that

can be found in the pews now through April 28.
