c WEEK 3- 4: SPORTS INTERVIEW (AFTER COMPLETING THEIR RESEARCH)Objectives: To listen to an interview (refer to PEBD Primary 6 page 20, CD track 6) or listen to a RTB or radio broadcast of a sports commentary. Reread their information/research on their chosen footballer, sportsperson In pairs, ask and answer questions from their question list. Invite a well-known local sports person to talk to the class

4. INSTRUCTIONS:

Activitiesa. WEEK 1 – 4 : HOW TO PLAY A SIMPLE BOARD GAME

Objectives: To give instructions on how to play a simple board game. For example congkak, chess, scrabble, tiddly winks, monopoly, hangman.Materials: Board gameProcedure: Bring in their favourite game to class. Practise the necessary language structures and vocabulary related to each game Give instructions on how to play the board game In groups, choose a leader who will later explain the rules to the peers. He will also be the referee. Allow time for playing the game using English.

b.WEEK 1-4: HOW TO PLAY ….. Objectives: To give instructions on how to play two chosen sports (for example, futsal and netball)Materials: ball, netball bibs, net, sports uniformProcedure: Brainstorm in groups about futsal and netball Explain the rules in the class. To give instruction on how to play the sports If possible, use class time to play / demonstrate the sport outside the classroom The girls can play futsal against the boys and vice versa (all pupils should try to use English)

For higher ability/interest students they can watch a Quiddich match from the Harry Potter film and information from the 1st Harry Potter book can be used to give instructions on how to play it.

Objectives: To use future tenses ‘going to’ or ‘will’ when they are talking about future plans for Mother’s Day/ sport event/ celebration/ festival etc.Materials: -Procedure: Talk about where, what, when, why, how, who for future plans for selected event Teacher models the sentence structure. For example, I am going to the Empire Hotel for Mother’s Day.
