The audit covered the period January 1, 1975, through~larch 31, 1977, the fin,"11 coverage elate of the cnrrent reportfiled by the Committee at the time of the a~dit. The Commi,tt0(~

reported a beginning cas}l balance at January 1, 1975 of $6,677.09,t.otal receipts for the period of $322,982.89; tot.ul expenditun..-,sfor the period of $331,160.89; and an ending cash deficit atMarch 31, 1977 of Sl,500.91.

This report is based upon an audit of the AmericanParty (lithe COmI!1ittee") undertaken by the ]I.udit Division ofthe Federal Election Commission in accordance "lith theCommission's audit policy to determine whether there has beencompli<mcc \d. th the provisions of the Federal Election CampaignAct of 1971, as amendeu (lithe Act"). '1'he audit \'las conductedpursuant to Section 438(~) (8) of Title 2, United States Code,which directs the Commission to make from ti~e to time auditsund field investiqations with respect to reports and statementsfiled under the provisions of the Act.
